Amazon sending part of order instead of whole order?

I've ordered a few things from Amazon lately and some are multi-item orders that are in stock. I have ship all items at once selected but they are shipping items separately.

Anyone else experiencing this? I hope they aren't charging me for shipping, especially since these are free shipping orders.

They've been doing it for a long time, and no, they won't charge you for shipping. Seems like it would cost them extra money to do it this way, though.

They've always done that and I think it's a good thing...for instance, I just ordered the Firefly box set for $20 along with two shaker cups, all of which qualified for free super saver shipping. They don't have to do with one another, so if one is late, at least I have the other first.

It doesn't appear that they are charging me for it so, this is fine with me.

Just thought it was odd and a bit surprising.

I believe amazon doesnt have a warehouse full of items on their website.

They take orders and ship from different companies to your door.

It comes in an Amazon box...unless you mean they order from companies and have it shipped to their warehouses and then they ship? but then really wouldn't make sense with what you said. I guess they could send the boxes to those companies and when they get an amazon order they just use the amazon box?

They've done that when my mom orders things. She says that there's a box to check off somewhere that tells them to hold the order until it is complete, but they seem to ignore that. A few times, two boxes will arrive on the same day.

I also love their packaging department. I got a mattress pad recently, and it was packaged better than some computer parts I buy online. We certainly can't have a delicate fabric getting banged up in shipping.

Some stuff is from Amazon, some stuff isn't.

Yeah, they love doing that. I ordered four items and they were scheduled to ship together. They all came separately. Kind of annoying. I wish they'd just throw them all into one box.

Is this the first time you've ever ordered from Amazon? 2007?

A lot of items come from different warehouses, so it's impossible to put them all into the same box.

I know, it's just wishful thinking. Always have to have something to complain about.

I got in on that HD-DVD player deal on Aug 28th. Well I got the dvds a few days ago, the dvd player is supposed to show up on the 17th. It said in stock when I ordered......
If that wasnt enough, they over charged me and argued with me about getting the difference refunded. Pain in the ass I say...
