How many people can take part in the amazon prime thing ?
We should for another group and get one going.

I love Amazon.com :)

I just read the amazon prime terms and conditions, and it says that you can invite up to 4 members of your "family", but here's the catch: All the stuff they order will be sent to the same address (hence the whole family thing). So that's where we stand, I'm not really sure this $16-17 per member thing is even possible.

I live 2,000 miles away from the person I signed up with. And it was just a random person online.

I ship to my home address. When the person who bought prime adds a 2nd person (or more), you get an email and have to confirm the persons name, email address, and birthday. And they do the same for you. After that you have prime. The other people can't see eachothers address/CC/orders.

I used to order a ton from Amazon which made it really nice. I've been trying to cut spending a bit, so I haven't ordered as much and hence haven't used my Amazon Prime-ness as much. My mom likes it though and even without Amazon Prime (I think she's still a Prime member). She was amazed at how much money she could save by not going out and getting the stuff in 1-2 days :p.

well, if someone else wants to buy Prime, then I'd sign up if they send me an invite. There's enough people in this little thread to have us all pay the $16-17 fee.

Don't the invites have to go to "household" members, meaning they would need to have the same address? Or no?

If no, I have a few invites to get rid of.

I love Prime, BTW. I usually opt for the $2.99 overnight shipping, which I use often for items that I need right away, but don't want to pay B&M prices for.

Free 2-day shipping with NO minimum purchase is awesome too. I order lots of little items and never have to worry about 'filler' anymore.

The real benefit is things actually ship right away vs hanging around for days with no activity. The normal free shipping sounds great but when you wait a week it hardly seems worthwhile. I used that option exactly once before Prime came around, after that time I always paid more to have things ship in a timely fashion.

My previous prime membership just expired. I?m looking to sign up for another year. The total cost is $79 and can be split 5 ways right? Who wants to be my family and go in with me? I don?t mind forking out the initial $79. PM or reply.

I like Prime because of the no minimum free shipping, but often they'll ship out items to me via Ground instead of 2nd day. So it takes 3 days from their warehouse in KS instead of 2 days as advertised.

How has amazon not caught on the sharing of 5 completely different shipping addresses? Man I hope they don't go under.
