Amazon Prime - USPS??

To those out there who are members of Amazon Prime - have you noticed if they have started to use the USPS for shipping items, as opposed to the typical UPS/Fedex that they have always used in the past?

I've had two orders in the past few months go out USPS, the first which came in 4 days rather than 2, and now this newest one seems to be lost after a few days (was supposed to be here monday and it didn't come in the mail today or yesterday either). I assume they are using Priority (which is 2-3 days across the US), but it can be slower.

I just called and they were nice enough to overnight me another one, but i'm not happy with them turning to the post office for Prime, they aren't exactly as reliable in terms of speed as the others.

Anyone else?

i think USPS is probably more reliable than UPS or fedex. that's just my opinion though and have had good/bad experiences with all of them.

Wow, that's bullshit. I order a crapload of stuff from Amazon with Prime and only have stuff ship via UPS or FedEx.

BE HAPPY it isn't some other companies being used by Amazon. There are many other companies that Amazon has started to use and they are terrible. Look up Amazon and Ensenda.

Ensenda has a reputation for marking something as an attempted delivery so they can meet the Amazon contract but never are showing up to try and deliver for days after it should have gotten to you.

The moment Amazon switches shipping to my area to someone like Ensenda, I will drop my prime membership.

I ship quite a bit and i've found that while my packages rarely get lost with the post office, they are quite unreliable in terms of speed.

I'm sorry but for $80/year when your paying for unlimited 2nd Day Air, anything less just isn't acceptable.

Now that I think about it, I am going to have to agree with you. I haven't paid for a prime membership yet ( this is my first year and somebody gifted me a free membership for a year), but if i'm going to be paying $80 a year for this, i'd damn well be getting things in two days! Like you said USPS always gets my stuff to me, but it can be anywhere between 2 to 4 days in my experience

read my past post on Prime. They do the Fed Ex to USPS BS. My package left Nashua NH on Nov 22 around noon time. It arrived to me on Nov. 29 in Dedham, MA. Yup, it took a week for the package to travel 45 minutes in drive time. They expect me to keep using prime? For $79 a year, you better give me 2 day like I asked, not some BS turn around service.

I'm a Prime member I've had them ship USPS once. Still got it the next day 😀

Of course, it went from Kentucky to Virginia, so it didn't travel far.

I don't use Amazon Prime, I try to place orders where I can get the free Super Saver Shipping. So when I order books or dvd sets, I try to combine them into one order, so it gets free ship. Amazon will usually ship as they come in at no extra cost. And for most of these items, they are preorder, so I don't expect them for a few weeks or sometimes a month or two. USPS has always got my Amazon orders to me just fine.

I've gotten a few smaller things like DVDs USPS but it usually comes the next day in that case. If you have prime and order something that is supposed to arrive 2-day and doesn't come the day it is supposed to, call them! If they messed up they will at least give you some promotional credit.

I did....they gave a $3 credit. Gee....thanks, i guess.

I've had Prime for years now. I've had packages come UPS, USPS, Fedex, and Ontrac. The only one that's ever been late was Fedex (twice).

I just had a package that I upgraded to one-day shipping and it arrived 4 days after the shipping date... go Fedex!!

Contacted Amazon and it took about 2 minutes to refund me the $4 charge to upgrade the shipping.

I've had deliveries from Amazon from just about every carrier out there, and some that I didn't even know existed. They've always arrived on time. However Amazon's packing skills are sometimes questionable

Only had stuff delivered by UPS or Fedex....but I mostly upgrade to overnight, like my Silverstone TJ07 case. Overnight shipping via UPS for $3.99. Love Prime!

its always ups for me in NYC. i actually wish they would let me specify usps, as I can pick that up from the post office near my apt. instead of having to go all the way to the terrible ups customer center by subway.

does 2nd day include saturdays?

does it matter who the carrier is as long as it gets there in 2 days?

I just had a package from Amazon Prime delivered by USPS. The USPS driver was lazy and hung it on my mailbox. It was a Sony PSP package, games, and other items. Glad it wasn't raining that day or that somebody didn't take it.
