I'm hooked. $20 extra for $2K (last year) worth of stuff, 2 day shipping.....And 1 day for $4 extra.

$20 more is not to bad, esp with them picking up more movies/shows. Wish I could pay in advance like Netflix.

If they actually improve their stream side availability it may be ok, but I've never really used it as the selection was pretty ad when I looked and a lot of time when selecting a show that said free it would turn out you could watch the first episode then pay for the rest.

Still worth it to me. Easily saves me $100 in gas not to mention general frustration of Walmart. Shopping anywhere else runs me $20 in gas and a good hour of driving.

Still worth it. Luckily, I just renewed under the student program for $50. I was happy (and surprised) to see that my old .edu email was still active. 😀

Don't they have free shipping over $25 anyway? Not sure it's worth it now.

its free standard shipping. Last time I used it it took almost 2 weeks to get my stuff. If I order something with Prime before 6PM Eastern, I have it by 7PM 2 days later. Its well worth it for me.

Not to mention the fact that I order stuff for work, so I just expense the cost of Prime.

True but I want what I want and I want it now. Ex.: I'll be done with the book I'm reading today and I want the next in the series. So yesterday, $4 paperback + $4 next day delivery...I'd have paid $8 at Books a million and they probably wouldn't have it anyway.

F Paul Wilson if any doesn't care.

I guess it depends on how you spent that $2k. That's like one TV order. If I spent that little, I couldn't justify paying for Prime. That's like 10% extra added to the purchase price. And in 7-8% sales tax and that's 17-18% extra.

Its $35 now and standard shipping means they take their time getting to your order and also ship as slow as possible.

I'm lucky enough to live near a major UPS hub, so I seem to get my orders in 1-3 days no matter which method of shipping I use.

I just got renewed for $79 so I have a full year before the price increase. Now that they are charging sales tax in my state I'm not so sure Prime is worth it, when I could get it same day (by driving) for similar pricing (BB price matches AMZN for electronics, etc) and save $100/yr.

We hardly use the streaming features at all and don't have a kindle so those aren't value added for me...

just got the email as well. it's fair enough. can't complain about that price.

used prime for 4 years then cut it off last summer when i was broke and not ordering much. signed up a month back because i knew the increase was coming and Amazon Prime with Hulu is how i am cutting the cord.
