Amazon prime is ridiculous sometimes

thats pretty awesome! They actually going to deliver on monday? Or is that just a court holiday...

I ordered a bunch of stuff on Thursday and it all arrived on Friday. Sometimes that 2 day shipping turns into 1 day shipping for free!

I love it, but it's pricy. Have to spend more than I usually would to make it worth while sometimes, but I usually end up buying things on amazon that I wouldn't normally because of the "free" 2 day shipping.

meh, you get a lot of value for that 79 bucks a year.

Student ftw got it for free for a year and half off from then on.

About 60-70% of my stuff now gets overnighted for free with a Prime membership due to being located "close." I almost ordered a single 9v battery to save $1 and the 10 minutes it'd take to stop by the store on my way home. It would have overnighted for free, and who knows how much it would have cost to ship 😛

But I thought that to be a bit rediculous, and found out that CVS/Walgreens is having a sale on a 4 pack of Duracell Coppertops for $10.

Yeah, Amazon Prime is awesome.

If warehouse that items ships from is close, stuff often arrives in 1 day.

🙂

That is what you should expect if you ask for 2 day delivery. That said, you did order on a Saturday and unless it was very early in the day, the odds of it getting to a shipper before they close is slim. Now you have Sunday and a Holiday thrown in. USPS is closed today. UPS probably open. Personally, I think you will actually get it sometime Wednesday.

Amazon prime is awesomest when you order something that would have cost at least as much to ship as amazon prime cost per year. Last christmas I ordered two entertainment centers and a home theater system with free prime shipping. It payed for itself right there. Everything else I've ordered this year has been savings IMO.

I've been wondering lately how Amazon Prime is profitable. I mean, I order a couple things a week with free 2 day shipping. I know 2 day shipping isn't cheap... And I considered the possibility that UPS is giving them a huge discount... But the fact remains, shipping some rhino ramps to me with 2 day shipping has to cost UPS a good chunk of my yearly prime subscription fee.

I've been a big fan of Prime. With that said though, you need to know your prices - especially for home goods. I price shopped paper towels and TP and Wal-Mart and Costco was significantly cheaper than Amazon. Prices do fluctuate, but it was significantly off.

Home\office goods can usually be had dirt cheap from Staples\Quill with coupons and sales. I bought a 100 rolls of TP, paper towels, and garbage bags for $80. I'm set for life!

I ordered a camera on Saturday and it would have been here today (Monday) except that UPS decided that we must be closed for the holiday without actually bothering to check so my package wont arrive until tomorrow. Amazon wins, UPS loses...argh

I always shop around before using Amazon. There are a lot of items that are cheaper elsewhere, but Amazon's pricing is better a lot of the time as well. Sometimes I have to weigh the benefits of getting something in two days vs paying less overall for the item + regular ground shipping. If it's close I'll often go with amazon anyway just to get the item sooner.

Meh, I live a half hour drive from a major Amazon warehouse/depot. All orders, even free shipping ones, come within 2-3 days free.

FYI, most things on amazon over $25 have free 3 day shipping. Sure you would have had to wait an extra day, but it still would have been free.
