Amazon Prime for $72

I bit. I buy a helluva lot of stuff from Amazon. No more waiting for two weeks to get it.

This has to be an exaggeration. I've never had prime, and normally get free shipping from amazon (when I actually find them the lowest price) and I still get everything within 4-5 days.

Location dependent... I do the free shipping every time and it's been quite a while since I saw an Amazon order inside of a week plus some. Typical these days is right around the 2 week mark.

Prior to having Prime, I had some shipments sit for over a week before shipping. I think part of it is how Amazon consolidates shipments.

The best thing about Prime, for me (besides the instant gratification), are the hassle-free returns with free return shipping. I think last year I only returned one item, but it makes ordering just about anything completely worry-free.

Well, I'm giving the gift-yourself-Amazon-Prime for $72 a try. I've placed order and just received the gift email.

I'll end my Prime membership on the 27th or 28th, then try to redeem the gift. Worst thing that can happen is that the $72 becomes an Amazon gift certificate, so it doesn't cost anything to try.

Worked like a charm. The gift I sent myself for $72 renewed my Prime membership.

You just have to make sure you first let your old membership expire. Make sure you turn off automatic Prime renewal.
