Amazon Prime Day

I noticed amazon prime day is starting in about an hour. Is there anything specific people are looking for / wanting? I've never seen this deal before and I have no idea if it's any good.

If I find anything note worthy I will put it in this thread. If anyone is looking for anything specific let me know and I will keep my eyes out.

Something really random that I would like, is a really really long charging cable for my galaxy s6 phone. With where my computer desk is, and where the surge protector is, it's kind of tough to use the phone while plugged in. So either an extension, or longer usb to micro would be great for a "random" thing lol.

Hopefully the 16gigs of ddr3 2400mhz ram I just bought doesnt go on sale to much cheaper, doubt it will though. Loving this 16 gigs!

Last year, they did not have any good deals worth getting except for Amazon hardware. Their prices are already pretty low so I would not expect much this year either.

Lots of retailers are trying to unload their black Xbox One models since the slim is slated for next month. Not surprised to see a deal on it.

It was super-hyped last year when they introduced it. And the great deals they had sold out in seconds or a few minutes. Next to no good deals but their sales skyrocketed. I'm not going to even bother looking this year.

BTW I did get an email that if I use my Amazon Rewards card I'll get $30 off $150 for things sold by Amazon.com. Use VISA30 as the code.

I wish they had a way to search through the deals when you are looking for something in particular.

So this is $10 free, right? Just "gift" yourself $50 (reload your balance should work), and you get $60...assuming you shop on Amazon a lot...

"Happy Prime Day! Today only, Prime members can get $10 in Amazon promotional credit by purchasing at least $50 in Amazon.com Gift Cards. Just click the yellow "Click to add the code to your account" button below, and add a qualifying gift card to your cart. This offer is valid today only, July 12, 2016, and while supplies last. FYI, the $34 (normally $50) Fire tablet is pretty nice and even supports 128 GB microSD cards if you want to carry a music library around.

The only weak part is the mono speaker, but headphones and bluetooth sound good.

The latest Fire TV with 4k and Alexa for $69 is a pretty good deal. I almost bought Pride Prejudice and Zombies on blu ray for $11 then thought better of it.

I may just get one for the sole fact that you need a Kindle device to use the Prime Lending Library. But then again, I might cancel Prime in a month so there will be no use.

Ive been debating about upgrading from my original Fire TV to the new 4k model all day. Im happy with with how it runs Kodi, Netflix, etc., and I really couldn't tell much difference at all in the 4k content Ive tried through my smart TV's apps and the 1080p amazon stuff. I should just save my money for something else, so why am i still tempted by "new and improved"??? Arrrgh!

And, their customer service has gone downhill.

The only fire tv stick listed on the Alexa deal page was the basis on on sale for $25, with the $10 discount for ordering through echo. I ordered it.

Then I saw the stick with the voice remote was on sale for $10 more and prefer that.

So I asked them to change the order and move the $10 credit - they wouldn't, they'd only cancel the order and the $10 credit can't be re-used.

I saw the fire tv with game thing on sale for $110, but the early reviews I saw suggested not really worth the extra - and I'm not sure fire tv is worth the extra over the stick?

I didn't expect this thread to get so much attention. I feel accomplished lol. Anyway someone mentioned they wish there was a way to search for specific items. There is. If you click this link https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_pg_...l+phone+charging+cable&ie=UTF8&qid=1468355727

well, take out the part that says cell phone charging cable and search for whatever you want. I am looking for like a 10ft cable for my galaxy s6 lol.

Edit: there is also a drop down box that lets you pick what category you want, for example if you pick prime day, you can search specifically for what you want from prime day. If they don't have it, below it will show you they have it. If they do it will have a blue bar at the top saying prime day.

I had the Fire stick first and the Fire TV is much faster switching apps etc., and streams wirelessly with less issues, my stick would drop streams frequently. I dont have any experience with the gaming one.

I think the gaming one is the same as the 4k, just with a controller.
