Amazon Prime Canada

Interested in if any Canadians have Amazon Prime. Experiences? Is it worth it?

Prime in Canada gives you:

- Free two day shipping
- Free unlimited photo storage
- Access to Lightning deals 30 mins before non-Primes.
- Costs $79.00 / yr

So no video streaming or whatever else the USA version gives you.

Value?

Well sure, but I mean are there things above and beyond what Amazon has listed as the perks? If there was a streaming service that'd be sweet - I'd be in almost for sure. But no such thing. So just wondering if there's something else that isn't advertised that's perky.

Since Prime came out here, I've noticed that they're holding my shipments more often -- I live near a fulfillment center and used to get 2-3 day delivery with regular $25+ order free shipping. It takes a week now. And they sometimes ship from Vancouver, I don't know if it's stock related, or they just want to delay the arrival.

Nope we get screwed here as usual.

If you buy a lot from them it's obviously worth it. We have it and order enough from them that it would cost more to not have it. It does suck that we don't get the video streaming service.

I usually only do three or four orders a year from Amazon... and then its usually stuff I cant find around here or is cheaper on amazon or etc.

For the shipping alone, not worth it for me personally, I think...

Old thread but worth mentioning - rumours are flying around that Amazon's video streaming is coming to Canada on December 1st 2016 (AKA TOMORROW).

I've been noticing that as well. 3 years ago + everything I ordered would be next day essentially. It's slowly been taking longer and longer. I don't attribute it to intentional delays though, I just assume that everyone that paid for prime or expedited shipped gets slotted ahead in the queue pushing your order down.

Looking forward to hearing what tomorrow brings for Prime streaming. I might finally have a reason to sign up.

Ive had it for 4 years. Ill be letting it slide and not renewing next year. To many late shipments lately for it to be worth it, ive even paid the 3.99 to upgrade to next day a few times but had it take 2-3 days. Its starting to look like a scam IMO.

Unless you order alot and need fast shipping its not worth it. just use the free shipping they offer anyways.

I don't see it as being worth while for me as I don't do enough shopping there to justify it. That and I don't think stuff non fulfilled by Amazon can be prime illegible (or can it?) and most of the stuff I tend to buy is not actually sold by Amazon themselves. Amazon/Ebay is basically my fall back for when I can't find something somewhere else. Usually oddball electronic parts or stuff like that. Or camera stuff like lenses etc. That stuff tends to be 3rd party.

Are your packages delivered by polar bears?

Man I've placed over 200 orders this year and the vast vast majority were fulfilled by Amazon. As far as camera stuff goes I've ordered Olympus camera bodies, flashes, lenses and grips and stuff as small as a lens hood - all fulfilled by Amazon. What kind of photography gear are you getting?

I don't buy a lot but all the lenses and accessories I've ever bought were all 3rd party. Did 27 orders for 2016. Mostly misc electronic stuff, batteries etc. Most of them under $100. I'd say maybe like 3-4 of them were actually by Amazon. Really got to filter out the "too good to be true" stuff though, like 9,200mah batteries lol.

The squirrel's in the boonies.

This here is my city posty, what I call promptly delivered.
