Amazon Prime 5 person account sharing ending?

According to Amazon, you can only share with one other adult and you must share credit/debit card info and authorizations across both accounts - so I'd only share with someone you trust - completely! I don't see anything about what's going to happen to people who already have more than one person sharing the account. Some links to the relevant info at amazon.com and highlights below:

"Share Your Amazon Prime Benefits
Free trial or paid Amazon Prime members can share certain Amazon Prime benefits with one other adult by forming an Amazon Household."

"About Amazon Households
Eligible Prime benefits can only be shared between the two adults in a household. Customers who are Amazon Student Prime members (free trial or paid) or invited guests of other Prime members can't share their benefits. However, other types of Prime members can share eligible benefits with those types of members.

The following Prime benefits can be shared with other household members:

Prime shipping benefits
Prime Instant Video (streaming only)
Kindle Owners' Lending Library
Prime Early Access"

Note: In order to share content, Prime benefits, and Amazon Mom benefits, both adult account holders need to authorize each other to use credit and debit cards associated with their Amazon accounts for purchases on Amazon. This will not affect either of their current payment settings, but each adult will be able to copy the credit and debit cards of the other account to his or her Amazon account and use them for purchases with Amazon.

Share CC info? LOL

Well the idea is that you are only sharing with immediate family/loved ones, and thus are people you already intimately/inherently trust for some reason or another.

Which is to say, if you are sharing it and don't trust people to that degree, they aren't people you are very very close to and thus Amazon doesn't want to do share with them. And if you live with them and don't trust them, Amazon is secretly judging you. 😀

A lot of people abused the sharing. I'm surprised it took them this long to change.

That kind of convenience and cost, the abuse prob has taken its toll. I ordered a broken dishwasher rail last week at 9pm and received the part the next morning at 10am. Even with a distribution center nearby, that's pretty amazing.

I share my prime with my parents through the "family" program. They have their own Amazon account but get all the free shipping perks. IIRC they don't get amazon prime video access though.

Amazon isn't nearly as great in Hawaii as it is in the mainland btw. They take forever to ship your stuff for some reason, and THEN you get the transport delay. End result is that with Amazon Prime, using free shipping, I get things 10-15 days after I order them.

Virtual account number for cc is handy. Too bad I never got in on the sharing.

Amazon surprised me with my recent nonprime order though. Delivered 2 days after ordering.

My sister signed herself up on my Prime account before Prime Day but I'm pretty sure she's the only one using it that way.
