Amazon Pre-Order Discounts?

Has anyone noticed that the $20 game credit bonus that Amazon.com gives you when you pre-order games are now pretty much gone for all new games? The only new game that has it seems to be Gears of War 3.
 
They seem to do it a little bit more towards new release dates, and never on collector's/special editions.
 
They come and go. There was a period after Christmas where Amazon didn't seem to have any pre-order discount deals going.

I think it usually comes near Thxgiving/Christmas.

At least that's what I've noticed since they started doing this like in 2008.

But of course there are some games throughout the year they will put bonus promo credit for.
 
I've been keeping an eye on a few games like MW3, BF3, Skyrim. No joy so far. Don't really want to buy it from Gamestop but I have store credit there.

Madden 12 has it too, but I was hoping it was a little more widespread too -- like on Uncharted 3, for example.
 
Pre-order bonuses were the only thing that ever got me to pre-order a game. In-game items aren't worth it; I'd rather just wait a couple months and it'll most likely be much cheaper by then.

$60, even $50 is too much to pay for a game.
 
NHL 12 had the discount. Incidentally, KMart has been doing this awhile as well and Wal-Mart just recently started doing this. Forgot to mention FIFA had it as well, too methinks.

There was a $10 credit for Borderlands 2. When I pre-ordered MW3, they were also giving a 50% discount on Xbox Live renewal, which is a better value than a $20 credit if you are on Live.
