Amazon order rant.

I ordered an item from Amazon last Wednesday that was listed as In Stock. I just chose to use the regular free shipping because I didn't want to pay extra for the shipping. So, I figured I would go in and check the status and it will not even ship out until the 9th. Why would it take 3-4 days just to pack up and ship an item. It's not like it's oversized. It's about the size of a credit card.
Is this a failed attempt to get people to sign up for their Prime (or whatver it's called)?

Don't get me wrong, I completely understood when I ordered it that I was in for a wait but I've never had something take this long before. Emailing them to try and expedite the ship date was a waste of time. She only pointed out that I could have chosen a faster method if I wanted it sooner. :|

No, really? I never knew that, idiot.

Just had to rant.

their free shipping is not very fast. but they do make that clear when you choose it. and yes, i have prime.

I'm aware that the actual shipping time is slower but for some moron to let it sit in a wharehouse for 4 days before he gets off his lazy ass is ridiculous.

you never know, they might be really busy or something.

i usually go with the free shipping too but the one time i needed something right away i chose the 2 day delivery. that was worth it (got a circular polarizer).

Wow. Are you seriously this naive?

Because they quoted you 7-10 days for free shipping, not 1-3 days.

they let it sit in a warehouse for 4 days cuz your ass was to cheap to upgrade.

(or what they ^^ said)

Just looked up my last order wiht them and the order date was May 17, Ship date was may 19.

So, they don't always suck.

You're right, I am sure this is what is happening, not that perhaps they've opted to wait a few days for a more direct shipping route to save cash (thus the free shipping), or for a facility that's closer to get in their shipment of product. You've discovered the secret of Amazon.

GJ, you win the internet. Now feel free to log off.

Hmm, i ordered a brad nailer on the 2nd and it shipped on the 5th. Even tho it was in stock as well. I am not going to receive it until the 9th. i suppose I could have paid the extra $9 to ship it sooner, but i am cheap and I did not need it right away.

with prime i always get things the next day...

I had problems with Prime where an in-stock item would not ship for several days, even when I upgraded to overnight.

That only happened on a few occasions around Christmas, though. Overall, Amazon shipping has been just fine.

all free shipping orders are handled by oompa loompa's. didnt you know that the oompa loompa FFWCF (Freedom from Wonka Chocolate Factory) holiday lasts from 6/4-6-7? damn cheap labor! if only amazon hired workers from the US we wouldnt have this problem!

Wait, if you knew that then why are you complaining its taking too long? Did they miss the target delivery date? I guess I am just confused by your rant.

If you wanted it sooner, you should have chosen a faster shipping method.
