Thinking about buying one and adding a nice bluetooth speaker. I LMAO as I scrolled through the questions when I read this:

Can the ordering function be disabled? I would not want my guest's children order through the device on my Amazon account.
Answer:
Yes, you can disable ordering in the app. We disabled ordering after my 3 year old asked, "Alexa, do you have jelly beans at your house?" She did and she sent us a $17 bag of them! He also nearly ordered a new vacuum, but luckily didn't complete the purchase. Amazon was very cooperative about returning the jelly beans and refunding us the $, but we disabled Echo ordering to be sure it didn't happen again.

I've been thinking about getting a couple of these.

Yeah, there's a couple podcasts I listen to where the jackass host will just randomly say "Siri, set a timer for ..." or "Alexa order me ..." What a jackhole.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll make the trigger name Echo. It would be the least common word used. Especially since I plan on placing it in the living room with a TV and that Amazon Echo commercial keeps coming on where the actors say stuff like, "Alexa, what's the weather like?" I don't want my unit to trip on that.

Too bad you just couldn't add your own trigger word. LOL I can think of a few unique ones.

"Red rover, dim the lights."
