Amazon.Com, Why Hast Thou Forsaken me?

I am starting to believe a friend of mine was right when he said Amazon's service would tank in regards to music and books, once they started expanding into other areas. Their discounts on books are becoming less and less, and in some cases are non-existent. That's if they have the book in stock at all, or will even acknowledge that such a book was ever printed.

It's even worse with their music. Their CD discounts are nearly non-existent now too, and good luck finding what you want. More often than not, they're out of stock and claiming the title is no longer being produced, despite evidence to the contrary. Then if they DO actually have the CD I want in stock, from the time I put it in my cart to the time I hit the button to check out, the price goes up by three dollars and change. :|

Their after-xmas prices are pretty bad, I just retaliate by choosing the free shipping and not caring if I only order 2-3 things at once and barely reach the $25.

I have to disagree on music inventory: they stock every in-print domestic CD I know of and a fair selection of hideously expensive imports.

The only in-print domestic CDs they might not stock are self-published where the person has not bothered to follow the right steps to be added to Amazon's listings.

I love Amazon. Customer service is great, prices are great and shipping has always been super fast for me. I think you're delusional :D

Hardly. Sounds like you're a brown-nosing fanboy, though. I used to love Amazon, but they have really gone downhill.
