I used to love Amazon.Com, back when they just sold media of various types. Back before they decided to become the Wal-Mart of the internet. Yes, I realize Wal-Mart has a site as well, but they don't suck as much as Amazon.Com, which is something I never thought I would find myself writing.

I used to have to limit my purchases to Amazon.Com only, as most of the secondary sellers would not ship to P.O. boxes, and I do not have a street mailbox where I live since the snowplows always knock them down. There are many roads and streets where I live where you will not see a single street mailbox. This was never a problem in the past though, as Amazon always had everything I wanted to order.

Sometime between my last purchase and tonight they seem to have implemented some new policy. I can still buy books through Amazon and have them shipped to my P.O. box, but they will no longer ship video games to me. I double and triple checked to make sure they weren't coming from Target or another of their secondary sellers, but no, they were all from Amazon. My $250.00+ purchase wound up having to be trimmed back to $40.00, and I would have taken the entire order elsewhere except they had one book I was ordering as a gift that B&N doesn't have.

Cliffs: Amazon.Com sucks.

Who are you? :)

Have you called them and asked why the policy change?

It sounds to me more like your snowplow drivers and/or mailbox placement sucks.

One of our local UPS drivers is a jackass and doesn't deliver sometimes, or won't deliver in this case. He failed to deliver it for some reason and it was sent back to Amazon. I e-mailed them about it and the same day they shipped me another one Next Day Air. A week later the original package came and they told me to just keep it.

I use Amazon all the time.

I do most of my Christmas shopping with it even.

It's a hell of a lot nicer than going to the stores and fighting th crowds.

I recently ordered books from their used section, and it takes almost a month to get them. Their delivery time is like a 2 week window, and that is 2 weeks after you order. I won't use that service again, I'll just go to half price books instead. Their main service has been fine for me when I have chosen to use them.

You can always call customer support as well.

It was every single video game in the order, all were from Amazon. They could deliver the books from the same order to my P.O. box, but none of the games.

I love amazon, but I do wish there was a flag I could turn on that would only show prime items in my searches, or at least segregate the screen showing prime on one side and non prime on the other.

Did you even read the whole post? Does it not strike you as stupid that they would ship some items to my address but not others, despite the fact that all were coming from Amazon.Com?

But we did have a mail room where we had to pick up our packages from.

That's how it was like for me. When you received a package, you had a paper in your mailbox and later on they started sending e-mails. All carriers worked with the college so I had no problems.

I also use Amazon fairly often as their prices are just that nice. I'm an Amazon Prime member as well so I get free 2-day.

Read comprehension = teh win.

I was talking about used books, which come from other people who use amazon as an intermediary. The general format is loosey goosey and it takes too long. As far as normal new orders, Amazon is ok for me.

The used books depend on the seller. I usually get books in 1-2 weeks. If I really want to dig into the book, i'll go to Barnes and Nobles to pick it up right then and there. If a seller takes too long I don't think it's really amazon's fault for that but the seller just sucking.

Does anyone have experience with returns with amazon? I was reading their policy and it isn't particularly lenient and they have almost no mention of opened items with 30 days.
