i have the gold box appeared on Amazon.com... but for some reason, i don't see any offers inside the box.
does anyone know why? (btw, i already bought some stuff from Amazon before.)

amazon sucks. :(

well yes i knew it was OOS since noon yesterday, but i saw bob's post from 10pm last night saying he got it, and i figured amazon was just taking backorders on the D-40

I got it early on the 9th while it was still in stock. I think it sold out later that day. Makes up for the $150 portable DVD player and the cool LEGO pirate ship that I missed out on because they were sold out. :cool:

Now I just need to get the Simpsons, Buffy and Memento DVDs and the $100 X-Box (yeah right) and I can stop spending money...

Guys, I see the D-40 is not in stock anymore at amazon. So If someone get the GoldBoxed D-40 for $250 then this may come:

I'm sorry, but we've just run out of this item. Our Gold Box deals are so good, we sometimes can't keep up!

I got this for one item that was out o stock but it may come now for d-40 :(

does this mean the deal is Dead ?

lurking here for couple years now but this deal brought me out... darn! this is too good of a deal to miss out on.

what a freakin joke... i even created an amazon account and started searching for things to buy just so i can get this in my gold box!

does anyone know if this is dead? do they replenish these special promotions?

well all i am getting now is kitchen stuff.... the gold box discounts are no more than $15..... i guess their marketing strategy worked.....

The delay is disappointing enough (I wanted to be able to play with the camera this weekend), but what's worse is that Amazon charged my credit card 3 days ago for this order. Charging before the day of shipping is a shady business practice, IMO. I've never seen Amazon do it before.

Oh well, it's worth putting up with some aggravation to get the camera at this price.

Yeah, leave all the good deals for me! :p

I got the Memento SE DVD for $10 this morning. Looks to me like there are still some good deals to be had.

Anyone needs a hot deal on garden crap and tools, then look me up. Stupid gold box.... I spend hundreds at Amazon in Electronics, my Wish List is filled with digital cameras, and all I get are pressure washers, power saws and more. Some brilliant shopping software Amazon... brilliant.

I have 2 accounts with amazon, One gets the good stuff just not the D-40, the other one gets kitchen or baby stuff real nice, and I cant pass up those 1.50 Gold box Discounts.


Anyways I did get a Olympus C-3020 for 325$ about 5:00 pm on 7/11, now this is a step down from the D-40 but still a good deal.

But hey this gold box thing is working we now all check 2x-3x per day. I find that I can look in the mornings and evenings on each day. Gluck all.

Got an e-mail from Amazon at noon today that the D-40 I ordered
early July 9th has been shipped by UPS ground. I had selected the
super saver free shipping when I originally placed my order.
Looks as though the deals will be going thru...not to worry!:)

Although its too late now, for future reference, I found it very effective to add digital cameras and electronics to my "Wish List" in order to get similar items in my gold box. I went from power tools to cameras, speakers, and a GPS.

today i got offered three different vises, one portable, one gold plated and one a vise grip for 250 that did a lot of sheyat. if i was a gardener i would be on a roll with all these home and garden pieced of crap they have offered me. one thing that i almost bit on was the dremel 7700 for 35 bux.

Yep, my camera showed up on my doorstep today even though I had recieved a notice from Amazon this morning stating that it wouldn't even ship until tomorrow.

The Tamrac seems the best IMHO. Some people are complaining that the one Olympus makes for this camera is too big.

damn... i just checked my gold box and 3 out of 5 were SM/CF readers... what the heck.....

The first one was the ISlim MP3 player for $142.75 a discount of about $25.

So if someone is looking to buy... do check your GB as i guess its in the next set of GB items....

Batteries! Ah I finally remembered the site for chargers and batteries. This charger and batteries got excellent reviews from PC Photo for powering Digi cameras, 1800mAH too! Nice fast charger as well...$36.97 for charger and 4AA 1800mAH batteries plus you get some free battery holders.

i found it was better to buy from am e bay dealer, got the Maha 204F charger and 8 AA GoldPeak 1800mAH NiMH batteries for $40 plus $5 shipping. Still looking for a deal on smartmedia, but there's always newegg...
