Amazon.com: 50 MP3 albums for $5 each

I recently decided to purchase music legally again, and this caught my eye as I was browsing for tracks. I would guess this would run at least until the end of 2008, maybe further.

As far as I know, MP3's from Amazon.com are DRM-free and 256 kbps bitrate.

Amazon is much better than iTunes, I'm never going back to iTunes again. Plus, if you buy Pepsi, the Pepsi points get you free Amazon MP3s. <3

Some very good albums there. Carter III, the Renaissance, and Paper Trail are all very good for the hip hop heads.
There's also Metallica, Katy Perry, Radiohead, Jack Johnson, T.I., Jesse McCartney, Coldplay, Ne-Yo, and Jason Mraz.

ETA - For those (and their children) more into mainstream.

Heh, Paper Trail is TI's latest album dude.

But yeah, there's some surprisingly popular albums on there for $5. About frickin' time that some of the savings from not having to manufacture and ship cds gets passed on.

I love Amazon MP3. If you check the day the album comes out, they often have a deal on it. Folie a Deux was $4 and so was Universal Mind Control.
