Amazon Cell Phone Rebates

I just switched from tmobile to cingular through Amazon and took advantage of the free razr offer. I plan to keep my current phone which is sim unlocked and sell the razr on eBay. Has anyone sold their "free" phone while processing the rebate before? I am curious because the rebate form says "all equipment serial numbers will be verified as being active on our system prior to rebate being fulfilled." Thanks in advance.
