where i live only cellularone and verizon have service here, and the signal hardly works when going around the mountains. verzion's hasn't changed there plans in a long time. verizon's best plan is 400min for $40 w/nights&weekends and its been that way for years, cellularone's best plan is 1000 min for $40 without nights/weekends - unadvertised plan, only available in store if you ask for it.

more carries should either offer more mins for the dollar or cheaper plans, 400 mins doesnt last a whole lot, thats only 20 mins per day during the week 🙁

The $29.99 plans from some of the carriers used to be pretty decent. But since last year, they've seemed to stop offering any airtime promotions on these lower-priced plans. Instead, you have to pay $39.99 for a decent amount of minutes. 🙁

Im currently with tmobile, contract will end in a month or so. I have the family plan with 3 phones, but what I want to do is replace 2 phones with samsung d415 & e715. wondering if I can just get the phones and resign the contract with the same # and get the rebate? or is the rebate for new activations?

My little brother's phone just broke, and since I only have another month left on my Verizon account, I guess I'll be looking into these phones and plans. I love T-Mobile, but I dont get service at home. I'm going to have to see if Cingular has service here. That new Razor phone is hot.

Heads up to anyone wanting a Cingular phone/service via amazon.com - they don't/can't transfer your number to Cingular (IIRC, it works with T-Mobile, Verizon and Nextel).
I was going to order a new Cingular phone this week, but am gonna have to find another provider since amazon.com won't transfer it. Seems weird, but on their site it says they don't have it setup yet. Bummer.

I'm a current AT&T customer who lost their phone... How can I take advantage of this Amazon deal without incurring the expense of canceling my AT&T contract?

I called the AT&T rep, and she said that I had to buy the new phone through them, even if I wanted to buy a new 2 year contract... Because Amazon's deals are only for purchasing the phone and a NEW contract I can't seem to figure out how to get AT&T happy that I am in fact not cancelling...only buying a new service throuhg a 3rd party....

anyone help?

you probably cant, these deals are usually for new customers only. but the lady is lying to you, and dont give AT&T a penny for a new phone, the price is always retail and outrageous, just get a phone on egay, either unlocked or AT&T

Man I wish nextel would offer cheap comparable plans (such as my 30 dollar plan 300 min with night and weekends from AT&T).

BTW FYI they have the i860 (the newest camera phone) for only 75 AR Link
