those are nice, but the people who already have VZW contracts are screwed on this eh?

&Edit: since I'm a phone on the family plan, I've been stuck with my V120c for like 2.5 years now, and there's no way to upgrade w/out paying a ginormous full price fee.. is there?

your contract should be over in 2 years? Just cancel it and start over.

Also after 2 years verizon should give you a $150 credit per phone to upgrade, but thin you are renewing your commitment....

na i'm on a family plan (I know, I'm 20, but its cheaper right?), so my phone doesn't get the $100 ($150?) credit, only the account holder does, and since my Dad just resigned the plan 3 weeks ago, I am stuck until 2006 (nov. of 06, almost 07!)...

I asked VZW about opening my own account, but they said I would have to get a new number.. while I don't see why they can't just switch my #, I'm going to stay on the family plan, because a $100 credit doesn't cover the difference between $20 a month and $40 a month (=$240/yr, vs $480/yr), so an extra $240, wouldn't make up the $100 credit for having my own account..

Edit2: my girlfriend just told me to resign the plan (again) and take advantage of the "new every 2" and get a new phone at the 2 year agreement prices since I've already had a phone for over 2 years..... I guess I'll be trying this...
