Amazon Android Store App payment question

I recently got the Evo 3D and installed the amazon app program to my phone.

When I buy something through the app, it uses my gift card balance to pay for the apps. Is there a way to choose to pay via a credit card instead?

I have looked through all the settings and do not see a way to edit your payment options.

thanks!

It links to your amazon.com account, so you probably need to change it there.

Yeah I've looked around on amazon and so far have not found anything.

I do know that when I purchase stuff from amazon website, I can select what payment to use. But so far, can't figure out how to change it for the app store program on my phone.

I actually wondered this too as I bought some apps over the weekend while on vacation for the first time. And it kept taking them off of my gift card balance. I'll ping Amazon support. Let me know if you find the answer in the mean time.

What's the problem if it uses the gift card or not? You're going to spend that money anyway and in the end your money out of pocket will be exactly the same other things being constant.

You are right, but I rather just spend my GC on one large purchase rather than have small .99 transactions taken out of it.

Amazon always pays with gift card balances prior to hitting up CC's. No way to change it either.

So you get the math... So I still have to ask why?

If you buy $10 in apps and $300 on something big, what's the difference if your $50 gift card goes 10 and 40 vs. a full 50? You still spent 260. I simply don't get the issue.

maybe someone want's to spend money left on a pre-paid gift debit card that may expire or accrue a fee if not used. whatever the person's reason, I heard back from Amazon and they said you cannot change payment options.

I myself inquired because I thought a amazon gift coupon was not working for some reason as it wasn't showing being reflected discounted from my purchase using my gift card balance. Apparently the coupon went into my gift card balance but there was no notification it did that when I purchased the android app.

I just wanted to know. What's the big deal?

It's a legit question and you've done nothing but troll at this point. You made your point, now move alone please.

No, there is, at least for online purchases on their main website.

I have a GC balance of $41.xx and when I buy stuff, I can select to use my CC or another form of payment to pay.
