I have contacted Amazon regarding this, and they always blame it on UPS, which is hilarious because UPS doesn't have control of the order processing.

you must be doing sometihng. 2 day at amazon (unlke newegg) mean it'll get to your door in 2 days. if they don't ship it in time they send via 1 day but it must arrive to you by 2 days. you must be doing something wrong.

ps i am not talking out of my ass. i've had 2 day packages come in 2 days but via 1 day ups.

Why am I being a cheapskate?!?! The point is that if it is only and hour away why doesn't it get shipped instead of sitting there. I never stated that I needed or wanted this item ASAP. I love how people just want to thread crap or name call. Thank you fellow ATers!

The problem isn't taking the free shipping. I use it every time I shop there. The problem is you're complaining about taking the free shipping. Amazon states that it will be slower than regular shipping.

If you wanted your items more quickly, you should have paid for the better shipping.

I have stated that I don't want it quicker but it seems no one will get past this fact. Althought if it is stated that free is slower then regular then I understand that and that is all the info I needed.

I just bought an item @ amazon and used the free shipping, during the checkout process that
info isn't displayed, you have to click the "shipping options" to learn that free ship items will
take longer. I would have gladly paid the 6.50 extra to get my blood pressure machine 5 days
faster, they should notify you during checkout and offer options there.

They ship USPS media mail which takes forever.

USPS is responsible for you having not received it.

I never received anything from Amazon.com that was shipped via media mail, and I'm not sure it would even be legal to send an Xbox Live membership card via media mail.

Correct me if I am wrong but I am sure that Amazon ships only in certain days of the week when you do free shipping. If you want something sooner, pay for it.

You could also click details right next to where it mentions free shipping before you do anything.

Ignorance on my part for not checking, guess I was just expecting the usual (2-3 days to ship, 3-5 days UPS ground).
meanwhile it was ordered 1:00 AM sunday and STILL hasn't shipped yet, I cant understand what is so hard about
tossing it in a box and getting it mailed out. I can imagine some bit-heads getting really peeved waiting 2 weeks for
parts for a build..

Think of amazon shipping system as a queue. Each order is placed in the queue. Super-saver shipments get placed at the end of the queue. Fast track shipments get placed to the beginning of the queue.

The closer your promised deliver date is, the higher priority does the shipment get. So super saver shipments won't usually move to the beginning of the queue until their promise date gets close.

And btw, amazon doesn't purposely hold shipments once they have been packed. So as soon as the shipment got picked at the warehouse it's no different from any other shipment and will get shipped right away. If the tracking history shows that the package is being held up somehwere then it's an issue with the shipping company.

I've canceled more than one Amazon order due to bad estimated ship times/dates. Nothing pisses me off like ordering a textbook/book and seeing the estimated delivery date change to a month later.

Not really an issue any more since I buy everything used these days...

Delivery confirmation isn't a tracking number. I've ordered many things and a lot of the times, it'll say 'ready to be picked up' and then i look at my door and it's been delivered. A lotta the times the mailman doesn't scan the items.

I've never had problems with them. Their free shipping gets to me earlier than anticipated half the time.

I have the same problem with CC. Shipped an item 13 days ago and has been in my hometown the last three. I called and they estimate 2-9 days until delivery. Sucks I didnt notice I could get three day delivery for $5.

hey bud, they are a buisness, they are there to make money. If they are offering you free shipping then they are going to do it when it is cheapest for them. Think if you were them. Would you do it any differently? Im sure there is an economic reason its not to you yet.
