I scored a pair of iHomes ik8's (
http://www.ihomeaudio.com/iK8B/) when target had them clearance for %70. I had a pair of bookshelf sonys that were over 10 years old and the connection between the speakers finally died so I was looking for a new set for my laptop. I have a theater setup for when I watch the new big budget movies and such, but I also watch a ton of anime and other stuff on my laptop cause its more comforable. They lack any sort of big bass which is expected but I was surprised at how balanced they were sound wise. They had clean highs, mids, and lows and are quite enjoyable for laptop or tablet use, especially considering their small size. Also they carry their own battery in each speaker and charge via USB.
The only downfall is there is no shielding between the usb power cable and the speakers, so unless you have the cleanest usb port in the world, and no one does, you hear a lot of noise through the speaker if you use and charge them at the same time. Stand alone chargers gave a high pitch squeal and laptops you can hear things like the fan, cd drive. Luckily the speakers can last several days before needing a charge.
Just wanted to drop this here..although I think we need to change the head line or stop bumping this thread.
