Hi, I wonder if anybody can help me here... I already have a BankOne Platinum Visa (0% teaser rate for 12 months so I bit). Is it possible for credit card banks to switch your reward/rate program over without having the hit on your credit of cancelling one and getting a new card?

Just be aware that these go on your credit report. Too many cc's are bad.

i dont think there's anything wrong with having hundred's of credit cards as long as you have a good credit history.

incorrect. no matter how great a credit history you have, the more CC's you have, the more "credit" you have, and therefore the more dangerous/good you are. don't be fooled. you can easily get turned down on a loan for having too many credit cards, as it present more debt that you can get yourself in, which in turn will affect your ability to pay off that loan, which they obviously don't like. honestly, i wouldn't carry more than 2-3, and possibly 4 max.

thanks! a $30 Amazon GC would be nice. if u get turned down for a CC, i always ask for a credit report. it's a win win situation!

^-- if i get approved, do i still get the $30 GC?

//krunk (^_^x)

I applied on july 22, I got approved right away. But I do not see my promo GC $30 ANYWHERE.
I see the card added to my accct. in amazon
Even when I select an item, and look at total do not see automatic code.
HOW DO YOU GET THE GC from amzon ? AM CONFUSED ??

Also,

If you get declined it does reflect your credit report and does influence other companies decisions

The more denials you get the less chance opther companies will give you a chance.

Samp, when you chose to pay with the Amazon credit card the $30 GC should automatically appear. At least it did for me. Even before I received the card the details were added on Amazon and usable. As soon as I switched from my regular card to the Amazon card for payment, the GC showed up.

Exactly, well put.

Run searches and read about FICO scores, they don't work the way most people think they do. There is much misleading information on this subject.

I applied and got the $30 GC. Seems the price went up on the item I was thinking about buying with it. Maybe should put deals in your cart before you apply. Maybe my imagination.

I tried the link but didn't see anything about a $30 GC
Amazon has this to say about that:
Good afternoon,

The $30 promotion on the Web site is not an offer that is eligible to all Amazon customers. It is only available to a select group of customers. Please note, there are many offers out there for the card, depending on what channel you come in through.

Thank you,

David

Grace period for repayment of purchase balances

At least 20 days, but none for balance transfers, convenience checks, or overdraft advances, if applicable.

finally bit on this, on top of 30$, by getting 3x rewards on zon purchases you essentially get a 25$ coupon off a 833$ purchase 🙂
