Anyone want to chime in that has this and using it as a gaming PC monitor. Do you have it hooked up HDMI or VGA? Also how does the text look? Can you get 1920x1080 with the vga cable or just hdmi? Also some confusion on this set having motion 3 technology. This site details say yes but others say no?
Any input guys?

The only complaint I've heard is that red text looks a little muddled. Some people have fixed this by changing the reds in the service menu. It has an IPS panel with extremely low input lag. I bought one for myself and then took too long to post the deal, and russw beat me :p

Does Amazon price match themselves? I bought mine from them within the past 30 days for a bit more than this.

Set mine up as a monitor last night, but haven't really had too much of a chance to use it yet. SD content looks amazing. 1:1 pixel mapping took quite a bit of effort to set up, but I believe this is more the fault of my ATI card than the TV. Text looks great, but I have observed the muddled reds kalrith mentioned.

Overall, a wonderful display. Especially for the price.

The Amazon main page lists a '120 Hz motion 3' feature, but the technical info page says it does not have the feature, they don't list whether it's 60 Hz or 120 Hz clearly anywhere (implying 60 Hz).

Looks like your ok..... "Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 60Hz video signal input, 120Hz Motion Picture Pro 3 makes 120 frames/sec from 60 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution."

But click the 'techcnical info' page and scroll close to the bottom. "120 Hz motion picture 3: no".

Interesting pricing probe on Amazon's part here. I assume they were getting a demand point to figure out how to manage the migration to the new sets that should be out in March April. I missed this sale. It'll be interesting to see how low they go later this spring when I hope to get a bonus check to emotionally justify the purchase. Then I'll be back at my Samsung Panny conundrum, though the Panny's seem to be a great value. Don't care about sound. The stereo does that

Ordered on the 11 and was delivered today. It would have been delivered yesterday but had a weather exception. I am on this now and after setting a few things its good even the text. Not quite as clear as my 24" ips on text but its better then the 32" sony xbr9, I tried 2 weeks ago. Colors are good for me right out of the box, not much lag playing games at least I see none and the Sony had some, I think its a keeper so far.

Glad you are liking the TV, so do I! I just can't wait to get a real GPU to play some fps on it. Videos look superb as is.

Stop bumping this damn thread reminding me they ran out before I pulled the trigger for me and/or a family member. (Tongue in cheek).

Keeper............

I assume you like yours? Mine came this morning too, and the box didn't get so much as a dent in it, so I'm very pleased with FedEx. I took it home at lunch but didn't even have time to take it out of the box. I'll definitely be setting it up tonight. Unfortunately I can't seem to find my DVI-to-HDMI adapter, so hopefully I can find it tonight.

Kalrith, How do you like yours? And yes I like it better than a Sony XBR that went back and am happy so far, I see no notable lag using it as a gaming monitor compared to a 24" S_PVA it replaced, at least in the games I play (COD4,CODWAW,CODMW2,Crysis or BattlefieldBC2. Glad I got in on this thanks to the OP.......

I absolutely love it! Unfortunately it took all the extra time I had last night just to rearrange my desk to accomodate its HUGENESS, to get my video card to detect it in Windows, and to pack up my Dell 2408wfp that I just sold. I didn't even have time to play one game on it :(

I have a 2900Pro and used the DVI-to-HDMI adapter that came with it. It would show up during boot or in safe mode but would be blank once it got into Windows, and Windows wouldn't detect it. I wound up borrowing the DVI-to-HDMI cable from my HTPC, and that worked right away. Once I set the correct resolution with that cable, I was able to switch back to the adapter, and it worked.

I went into the advanced picture options on the TV and changed the HD Size to Size 2 (that's how you do 1:1 pixel mapping, and you definitely want it set that way with a computer). I also changed the sharpness to 0. Those two changes made text and web pages look 10 times better.

My picture still wasn't filling the screen, and I read that ATI CCC defaults to 10-12% overscan. I opened ATI CCC and changed the overscan to 0%, and the picture perfectly filled the screen. Some people mentioned they had to set the refresh rate to 59 instead of 60, but I didn't have to do that.

I then tried the settings from this post at Hard Forum, and they're OK. The colors are way, way off, so I know I can't leave it that way. I'm coming from a Dell 2408wfp with near-perfect colors, so I don't know if I'll be able to settle for colors that are so far off. I'll see if I can find some other settings to try. I guess I could always borrow my friends BD player and use my DVE basics calibration BD, but I'm not sure if that would work right on the computer, and it might be too much trouble as well.

The only "problem" I've found so far is that when I drag a windows from the TV to my 20" 1600x1200 monitor, it becomes half the size it was :). I guess that's a good problem to have though!

My long-term plan is to place it on an articulating wall mount like this one and scoot my desk back about 6". I'm about 2 to 2.5' from the screen right now, and I think it would look better being about 6" farther back. It would also free up some much-needed desk space. I have a couch and my bike trainer in that room, and the articulating mount will allow me to extend the TV away from the wall and rotate it towards either the bike or the couch, which will allow my computer setup to act as a second HT room.

try mine in the link for a change? :)
I guess calibration really depends on the lighting setup in your own room though.
Now I have the backlight a bit higher at 40.

Thanks, konakona. I'll try those settings when I get home. I'll also try the Win7 color calibration tool.
