Amazon $180 cell phone rebate - attempt to deny?

I just checked www.rebatestatus.com for the status of the Amazon rebate on my Sanyo SCP-5150:

Amazon.com Cellular Phones Up to $180
Department: 034388
Status: We have received your submission. We were unable to process your submission for the reasons indicated below.
We did not receive an original UPC symbol or proof-of-purchase tab with your request.
You will receive a letter or postcard explaining this problem. The letter or postcard may have additional instructions on how to correct this problem.


I DID indeed send them the UPC from the box of the phone and a copy of the Amazon packing slip/receipt.
Anyone else have a similar situation??

Pardon the double-post, but I just pulled out my rebate form for the Amazon phone deal, and the instructions unequivocally state:

4. Send in this completed form, a copy of your Amazon.com packing slip as proof of purchase, A COPY (OR COPIES) OF THE UPC CODE(S), and a copy of your first month's service bill with activation to:

I sent in a copy... I will call them this morning and try to resolve this.

OK, so first you say you sent in an original UPC......then when you notice that Amazon should accept copies, you sent in a copy.
I wish somebody at Amazon would change the terms to say you had to send in a live goat as well - I'd love to hear you swear you did that too

I knew I sent in the UPC..but once I looked at the form I remembered that I sent in the copy as it said, not the original. The goat wouldn't fit in the envelope.
