Wonder if those building are occupied. Saw an episode of Vice a week ago and they visited some super nice Chinese citys that were built recently and had 10s of millions of floor space but were all empty.

I know those man made islands they built are still mostly vacant (and eroding). It's sad how much money gets wasted.

Cool shots. Some of those looks like they were rendered out of a video game or something. The cloud/fog pics were the most crazy.

Yeah, this one is unreal.

Just oil blood money.

A smaller percentage of Dubai's economy is currently based on oil and petroleum products than the economy of the USA. And let's not forget America's history of slave labor and foreign workers treated even worse than slaves. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of stupidity.

One of these topics is about the past and one is about the present.

God damn, you're stupid. Let me build a time machine and go back in time and stop slavery in America, then we can chastise the Arabs now with a free conscience.

Obviously because Americans hundreds of years ago had slaves it's perfectly OK for the Arabs to have slaves now. Why didn't I think of that?

:hmm:

The more I've traveled, the less I'm interested in these types of cities. Pretty to look at. Zero interest to visit.

The mixed use neighborhoods in downtown Chicago and Philly are infinitely more interesting to mill about than a self contained skyscraper surrounded by water fountains and asphalt. And the turn of the last century architecture is more interesting to look at, IMO.

I can appreciate the modern designs but the complete lack or urban planning guarantees this city will be a ghost town if businesses start to leave.

Can't tell if stupid or trolling.

Maybe the Egyptians were mocking us during the 18th and 19th centuries...'lulz, American slavery noobs.' :awe:

I wonder if he takes a similar stance on women's rights? Or civil rights in general? Child labor? Maybe conscription? :hmm:

How about genocide? I mean, the Nazis were totally cool with that. Maybe people in the middle east need to learn this stuff on their own. Who are we to criticize? :whiste:

"Too busy trying to kill infidels after being trolled by an anti-Islam video to care about those. BRB"

Some slaves travel to a desert to build palaces for rich sheiks, while some slaves get to stay home and make cheap clothes for the U.S market. Just got my brand new t-shirt from Bangladesh.

Check these ones out.

Yup, slave labor or lack of value of human life can attain amazing feats... Question is does anybody care? every great thing ever built was build on foundation of poor and helpless people. Even while building Hover Dam and railway lines across US East and West, 100s of people died. Should we be ashamed of it? probably not. When is the last time America build anyone huge and useful? Labor laws today are too strong to allow that kind of progress, that's the reason other countries are doing what we cannot. We have to figure out what's important to us, human value or progress. Being jealous of people who build great monuments and cursing them out will not achieve anything.
