AMAZING pancakes at IHOP

i didnt go to ihop for the pancakes. it was one of the last places i knew of that still served grits for breakfast. decent grits. now they dont have it on the menu, i havent been back.

Yeah it's odd, but they fill me up in no time. I could never get through a plate of 3-4.

Swedish pancakes + apple sauce or lingonberry sauce are awesome tasting. They are so light, I can eat tons of them.
 
Pancake Pantry in Nashville owns all.

90 minute waits in 90 degree weather + humidity are no problem to people who want to have these cakes.

The problem with most pancakes you get outside the house is the batter. I would bet that most short order cooks stir the batter almost every time they pour some on the griddle.

Water + flour + agitation = glue. :thumbsdown:

Add the dry ingredients to a bowl. Add the wet. Stir 10 times and pour onto the griddle.
 
For amazing waffles, I recommend Waffle House of America (not part of the chain), exit 52 off I-94 in Michigan.

Do you know how far that place is from Warren, MI?

Just curious because I want to hopefully make it down to the warren dunes some time ... and it would be nice to have a place to pig out in the area ....
 
I've always liked crepes over pancakes, but I don't know a good restaurant that makes crepes. In fact, I don't even know if I'm spelling it correctly.

No idea, but I make it a point to stop in every time I pass by (at least twice every summer). Beware! There is a restaurant with the same name off exit 41 or so, but it's part of the chain and not the same restaurant I'm referring to.

A long time ago, I was in San Francisco and ate a crepe restaurant down on Haight. They had both savory and sweet crepes. Pretty damn cool to have crepes made right in front of you.
