Hope he's not a democrat...

"So, who's the President?"

"George Bush"

"Again?! NOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo!"

He wasn't in a coma for 9 1/2 years... only a couple of months.

edit: yes, I'm aware that he recovered after 9 1/2 years...
Coma: 2 1/2 months
Moron 9 1/4 years
suddenly regains some cognitive ability.

Hope he stays that way. a lot of times people have sudden a sudden burst of cognition and then go back to being a vegetable soon after.

Tennessee police officer Gary Dockery, who was brain damaged in a 1988 shooting, began speaking to his family one day in 1996, telling jokes and recounting annual winter camping trips. But after 18 hours, he never repeated the unbridled conversation of that day, though he remained more alert than he had been. He died the following year of a blood clot on his lung.
Well that's really sad, isn't it? Hopefully the fate of the firefighter will not be similar.

When I heard of this earlier today I was just waiting for someone to post that. The cases are 100% different. No one has ever come out of a state like Schivo was in. Lots of people have recovered from relatively short comas.

Yeah, but he'll have a chance to inform everyone whether he wants to have the plugs pulled or not when he goes back in.

Thats amazing...

But towards the end of the article there had been other examples of this type of temporary recovery/improvement. Lets see where this guy is a year from now.

Bush was the President in 1995?

EDIT: nvm, you're obviously referring to the first George Bush.

Wow, this is pretty amazing. I hope he doesn't regress back like some of the other cases mentioned. At least he'll get to speak with his family again, even if it turns out to be only for a short while. That much must be a real gift for all of them.
