The fighting there is directly only for the good of the Iraqi people. The safer a free Iraq is the safer we are (not just America, the entire world especially the middle east)

For some reason I doubt that we will substantially put that city back together. But even if we did, all the depleted uranium is going to wreak havok on the indigenous population.

Were they shooting at anyone? It didn't seem like it to me. Looked like they just felt like blowing sh!t up.

theyre fighting, and dying for our country. i dont think they should be there, but i place NONE of that blame on them- theyre no less heroic because of the current administration.

The depleted uranium rounds are used against other heavily armoured vehicles. The rounds being used are high explosive, no DP in those.

that's pretty good footage...felt kind of weird after i watched 'saving private ryan' today. the situation seemed so calm compared to WW2. so i wouldn't call that footage a firefight...

They had the enemy pinned down pretty well with the heavy machine guns ... probably why they weren't taking much, if any fire. edit: taking fire, most likely. At one point most of them were in cover..

It did seem like SOME kind of round impacted near that one group in the beginning. There's a loud explosion and then you see a guy on the ground getting looked at.

hmmm,
they should be able to clear most of that place out. We have substantialy more firepower and US forces are well trained in the urban warfare scenario.

Whats that big piece of equipment the one guy has in front of his face?
Thats what I was wondering. At first I thought it was a camera, then I thought it was an RPG launcher.

Cool video!

And I thought it was his periscope but I know nothing.

My money is on laser target painter.

Point it at something, call and airstrike, and the bombs will hit that something.

it does stir the blood lust, doesn't it?
I would like to see more footage of it as well, but being a Vietnam era Media child, I want to see the end results as well. Just shooting into a wall does nothing for me.
PM me for Plans for Allen's Exploding Head Targets for Center fire Rifle shooters. They are Cheap and EZ to make.

Because they are under EXPLICIT orders from our Government to NOT show any of it. Remember what happened during the VietNam War when the 6:00 oclock news was full of picutres of naked, bleeding dead and dying CIVILIANS? Oh that's right, most of you weren't born then. The public sentiment changed. Notice that there are NEVER any statistics on US NEWS about civilian casualties. One has to go to BBC to hear about any of that.
