Yes

wrong. crysis will operate under DX9. not sure about working on XP though

dammit

You dont have to get vista to play it, but it wont look nearly as good in dx9.

the video i've seen of the DX9 version still looks mindblowingly good.

Yes, DX10 is Vista exclusive.

Perhaps, but it's the difference between blowing up a squirrels brain vs. blowing up mother brain.

Nvidia really needs to get those mainstream dx10 cards out, stat.

I see why they don't release too many modding tools anymore; they're making money licensing them to other publishers.

Nope. The next gen consoles can not handle this current generation of PC gaming :D

NFS4's reply begs to differ! :p

4 years ago, I would be all over this game, have the latest and greatest SLI system with a quad-core Core 2 Duo...these days I just don't seem to get into PC gaming. I've kinda switched gears and gotten into Guitar Hero 2 and other games I can play with lots of friends at parties.

Growing up sucks! >_<

:p

I too gave up desktop gaming and strictly use a laptop. I do all of my gaming now on my Xbox 360 even though my notebook is a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo with a Mobility Radeon X1700/

Your laptop would probably roll up my desktop and smoke it for a good time! I'm on my 2+ year old Dell XPS Gen4 (3.4/HT, 2GB DDR2, Adaptec RAID, 7800GT) I got a ton of HDDs for storage that I use to retrieve video files from using my Xbox with XBMC. I have had this copy of XP/SP2 installed since I got the machine! I'm actually very proud that I've troubleshooted every error and problem until I actually 'fix' the machine. For me, it's quite an accomplishment since the usual fix was 'format c:'. :p

I have tried Vista and, to say the very least, I am not happy with it at all. I'll save that discussion for another thread. Until then, I'll stick with my Game Cube, PS2, and Xbox while I'm not out fixing computers or taking photographs. :D

EDIT: I have not completely abandoned PC gaming...I still fire up Quake 3 for a good time with the buddies! :D I see no reason to upgrade this machine for a couple more years, at least.

If Crysis doesn't get ported to console, console gamers need not worry.

Awesome eye candy in KillZone for PS3 and in Mass Effect for XBX360 and I'll be just fine.

I havent seen the vids yet, but Crytek are Croatians. Did something change?

Crytek is an interactive entertainment development company founded by Cevat, Avni and Faruk Yerli in 1999. The main office is located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

I don't know where those three guys are from but the company is located in Frankfurt.
