Fixed.

Good job fundie.

How about opening your eyes to the fact that God may have created all life at first and let them freely evolve? Or are these dinosaur bones that we found presently and dated back millions of years fake?

No. I don't know the species. the mimic has it's name for mimicking it's mannerisms and shapes after other animals - really crazy stuff. The mimic is small though.

This guy is of decent size.

But AFAIK, all octopus have excellant camoflage capabilities and can completely blend in with their surroundings. I hope to keep one soon.

Acutally, I don't completley discount that the Creation of the universe by God may have manifested itself as the BigBang/Evolutionism. I also don't discount that God's hand may have been involved in an evolution of sorts. But whatever happened God WAS in control of it. Just look at the human eye for example, how can you honestly believe that that came into being by chance.

it wasnt just like two blind people have sex and boom their child has full blown eyes. I'm no expert, but i'd say some sort of photosensitive cell first came into being, and the whole thing went from there.

on topic: that was some pretty amazing camoflage. took me by surprise

I recognize that, it just seems that its more likley that there was at least some guidance present in evolution. I know you probobly view this argument as my justification taht there must be a God, but evolution simply represents an atheist's justification that there isn't a supreme being at all.

I don't wish to have this argument anymore, I am glad that you actually took into acount what I said and didn't mindlessley flame me, but I doubt we'll come to a true udnerstanding of each other's beliefs over an internet forum such as this.

We were made in the image of God. If the "image" of God is constrained by physical appearance, that would suggest that God has an absolute appearance and not one that we humans cannot comprehend. But no person of this plane of existance has ever seen God's figure, so people of the faith assume that his appearance is not absolute, otherwise people would start frivolous debates on whether God was Black, White, Asian, etc.

Or we can think of the "image" of God defined as "capabilities" of God, meaning we are given the same physical attributes as well as the ability to do anything as long as there is a will. Man had the will to colonize the four corners of the earth. Done. Man has the will to travel outside of the earth. Done.

And lets say for instance years from now, given the time, research and money, are you saying that we as a people will not be able to replicate the camoflauge capabilities of octopi? (rhetorical)

Can you give me your 100% and tell me that you honestly believe that the devleopment of the human eye and other unexplainable jumps of evolution had God's helping hand? If so, do you also believe that prayer alone is enough to guide our every day lives? What about believing in the ability to do whatever you put your mind ? That ability was given by God to humans and all living creatures. Need an example? Roaches. Rats. Mosquitos. Plants. Humans.

"Just look at the human eye for example, how can you honestly believe that that came into being by chance."

Who said anything about chance? How about believing that primitive life had the will to evolve into something more? I do not doubt that God had a hand in this. You doubt the ability that God has given all life on earth. You doubt that we as human beings can do anything without God's help (with the exception of receiving eternal salvation).

really, if theyd shown me this kind of stuff in school, i would have found it far more interesting.

seriously...the cephalopods (sp?) are some truly amazing creatures as are the cells they have developed.

and for that whole god/religion/BS debate.... can we not bring damned religion to a thread about NATURE? Believe it or not, some things in life work without some mysterious divine entity waving its hand. I for one despise the belief of some higher power designing life. But to each his own. But either way, nature can and does things on its own that, well... just happen. Its called adaptation. Evolution is the extreme form of adapting to ones environment. Evolution may feel like an athiets response, but it really isn't. Darwin might have been, but it is believed by quite a few realistic-thinking religious folk. Maybe not by fundies, but evolution is a natural process that is simply life adapting when things happen that are our of a creature's control. Giant meteor hits earth? All of us humans wont die.. and some of the survivors will die off over time because of it, but each successful generation will have a trait that better suits it to being able to live. You just hope that there is enough time for each generation to exist and adapt. It takes too long for a generation to able to reproduce for the next generation, time that may not be available in that kind of situation. Either way, if you want to, you could think of it like 'god' sends some giant meteor our way, some of us survive and adapt.. talk about flipping off god. Thats our way of stickin it to the man. Ha! Take that god, we lived! lmao

REFIXED

Yes. Let's just agree that none of us expected that plant to be an octopus.
