You posted a message that was obviously intended to be inflammatory, you meant to start an argument and imply that I "get off" on watching the war, as if I want the war to take place for my viewing pleasure. This is completely wrong and for you to make such an assumption and go as far as make an inflammatory post that implied this, it showed your immaturity and lack of couth. You have already proven yourself in my mind to be worthless and a waste of my time.

Do not bother replying, for this conversation is over. You blew your opportunity to hold a meaningful conversation with me.

I never took it as a possibility, you don't really strike me as someone who is capable of it. You make personal attacks without any knowledge of who I am, you prejudge my character just the same as you are judging me of doing. You've already proven yourself to be unwilling to listen to any alternative points of view, anything beyond what your limited experience and narrow worldview apparently allow you to conceive of.

You are the one who started slinging the insults with this post:

"Yeah, this war is just so... AMAZING. It's SO COOL, YOU KNOW?

War is so much fun, even more so when I can watch it from the safety of my living room. w00t!"

Such immaturity.

I had to point that out, but I do not care to carry a conversation with a young college kid who is still naive, opinionated, and overly energetic.

You blew it with that post. I never made such a slant towards you to deserve such a response. You started the argument, and ended any possibility of a conversation.

I've said my piece and this is last time I'm saying anything to you. You are best ignored.

Don't forget the French car batteries found in the Iraqi torture chamber "hospitals".

lol.

Like I was saying in my other post, I think the reason the French are opposed to the war is because of money, and not because of any moral reasons. They do a lot of business with Iraq and they don't want to lose that business. I don't think they really want to arm Iraq, but if it means making a buck they'll do it. I'm not saying France is wrong for wanting to make money off Iraq, but I do think they're wrong for trying to hide that motive and make it sound like it was a moral decision.

I don't disagree with you that often, but I do here. I don't believe this thread is appropriate for pontificating on the morality of war, even if through the voice of indignant sarcasm. For one thing, I'd like to see the video too, and I honestly think it will be amazing for a variety of reasons. It's important that the drama of combat be documented, and it's important to see the human side, in the soldiers, in the reporter, and in the faces of the terrified civilians brought to safety in a foxhole.

He is amazing! He speaks quite a bit of Arabic also. I liked the part where he offered the girl lunch and then give her a choise of Chicken or Beef and he said she started laughing. Did you also notice at the last of the battle they wanted him to move to a safer area he had a little argument with someone that they were not going to leave the family there and he gathered up the baby in his arms and they all scooted over to a safer place?
His reaction to the Hell Fire missle being shot from the helocopter was something else, i think he said holy jesus christ what the hell was that?

Couple of bits of update on this, now that Bob Arnot has called in again. He reported that the civilians described had indeed been used by the Iraqis as human shields, and they were able to escape once one of the Marines, described as an expert marksman, shot and killed the Iraqi who was keeping them hostage. In addition, Bob mentioned that in Al Kut, the fedayeen they were seeing are Syrians and Jordanians, and not Iraqis, and that the Iraqi civilians are increasingly happy to see the Coalition troops.

Did anyone ever find footage of this online anywhere? there is the video shown at http://www.msnbc.com/news/894798.asp but its not the footage that matches Bob helping out this Iraqi family....anyone know of anything...to date, this is the best live footage i've heard from the frontlines of the war.
