I wouldn't spend $80 for a used 6 core Thuban to pair with your current old motherboard.

I would sell the motherboard and get the Athlon 860K ($80) + the Asrock FM2A68M-DG3+ ($46). OC to 4.2-4.4GHz with default Cooler and you will be more than fine. Later you can upgrade your GPU with a new 14/16nm card next year.

Your motherboard does not support anything newer than PII unless the manufacturer released a BIOS update.

Looks like it is possible on certain revisions.

Looks like its the 8120 or 6350. The board will not OC well.

Your board looks old and may be a revision that does not support AM3+ CPUs.

The FX6350 is a Vishera, theoricaly 125W but actualy much less , so there can be a peak current limitation since the MB support up to 140W, wich include all FX83xx but thoses latter may have higher peak currents than Phenoms, Gygabyte may have tested a few SKU and concluded that it was cautious to limit it to a 6C...officialy.

That said the board could work with a regular FX8320 or 8350 if not overclocked but one more time it s not guaranted at all...

Edit : Latest bios was released 5 months before Vishera....

Yeah, It may support other FX series.

I would be cautious however as it is a 4 +1 phase board and judging by the OPs CPU, quite old.
