I've poked around this site a bit but haven't found a plain answer. Is there a physical difference between am2 and am2+ sockets?
Or better yet, will a AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition Processor work in a Gigabyte (GA-M57SLI-S4) mb, labeled am2 socket?

It may work but it's not recommended.

Just keep in mind the Kuma is nothing but a Phenom I dual-core - so it's going to run hot, burn lots of energy and seriously underperform the newer PhII chips.
