AM2 Overclocking-3500+, 2.65 GHz stock vCore Prime stable!!

[996GT2]

Just began OCing my CPU today...This CPU is awesome, does 2.65 GHz at STOCK voltage (1.344V), and hits 3.03 GHz at 1.44V, 3.1 GHz at 1.5V! Not bad for a plain-Jane Athlon 64, eh?

Ignore the fact that CPUz misidentifies my CPU, it's just a Athlon 64 3500+, not a dual core

Stepping LBBVF 0617 TPAW

This is within windows at 2.65GHz at stock vCore ov 1.344V. Prime stable 12+ hours, SuperPi 32M stable, etc

Updated Pics: These were taken from the BIOS of my MSI board, in both instances Windows will boot, although I have yet to prime my CPU at this clock speed.

UPDATE: I got into windows at 2.8 GHz STOCK VCore. Nothing seemed to be affected, so will prime at this speed in a few days. At 2.76 GHz and stock vcore, the CPU was stable for 1+ hours in Memtest and booted linux/windows fine, although I have yet to prime.

Yeah I know Conroe is very very good, but I didn't want to wait when all I wanted was a cheap gaming computer; also I wasn't sure of Conroe availability

For 150$ you coulda got an Opteron 144 doing 2.95 Ghz on 1.45volts, many months ago too. 2.8 Ghz with 1.45v sounds about right for the AM2 single core lineup, and slightly above average for an equivalent s939 venice.

Nice overclock nonetheless. Mine (single core 3500+ Venice) could only go up 2.62g @ 1.375vdc in air and stays stable. Otherwise freezes or lock-ups were imminent.

Nice overclock. My AM2 3500+ hits 2.94ghz @ 1.6v and is 100% stable. While I can hit the same speeds as you (with lower voltages), it just isn't stable during testing. I couldn't ask for more considering how cheap this CPU was. http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/7193/cpu0ci.jpg

Looks like the new DSL silicon does indeed help with higher clockspeeds. And also seems to respond to voltage more-so than the previous silicons. Looks good!

Not yet, but it's prime stable 12+ hours in the blend test at 2.65 GHz stock voltage

UPDATE: I tweaked it some more and booted Windows at 2.8 GHz on stock VCore!!!

It passed 2.5 cycles of memtest at 2.76 GHz stock Vcore (stopped test after that), and boots linux/windows at 2.8 GHz on stock VCore. I will probably back down on the OC a bit and prime again at 2.75 GHz on stock voltage.

Hmm, my newly purchased 3800+ AM2 has the 0617 bit - 17th week of 2006 isn't it? I assume it's from the same batch, and as such, I might have a nice overclocker on my hands - although I don't really plan to overclock yet.
