AM2 motherboard reviews?

I mean i see them
at newegg, but i dunno if i should wait or go ahead and order one. The one that looks interesting is the Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G. But there aren't any reviews on any of those boards, and i hate it when a month later the mobo manufacturers add something new to the features and say "hey, thats how we really wanted to sell it". Argh.

So, whats the consensus here? Wait or is it ok to buy? I am building the computer for a non-gamer, btw.

I read there will be a roundup of AM2 boards next week here at Anandtech. It's hard indeed to find reviews of AM2 boards, I'm also waiting for them before I buy..

I see, i can wait a few weeks.

Hmm, the gigabyte is using nforce 4xx chipset. I thought nforce 5xx was best for AM2?

nVidia is using the new AMD socket as an excuse for their launch of NF5, but in fact their NF4 is still compatible with AM2. I don't think anyone knows which of the two is actually better since the chipset has to mature a bit first to find all the bugs, imo.

Being a ASUS aficinado, I almost fell off my chair when I saw the price on this ASUS mobo

I think that my present ASUS mobos were a smart thing for me to stay with.
My OCZ 2GB Gold package was at least easier to handle than here.
OCZ DDR2
Well, let's see what happens next.......

Nothing shocking. It's a nforce 590 SLI motherboard (dual PCIe 16X) - Ultra High-End. Even the A8N32-SLI debuted between $225-$250 (even now, its selling a lil' south of $200). And the DFI XPress 3200 for Socket 939 also debuted at the $225ish price-point.

I think we should get used to seeing Premium Mommaboards debut at $225-250, while Premium graphic cards launch at $550-600.

The 'regular' SLI motherboards from MSI are really, really well-priced. I wonder how they will perform (over-clocking-wise, of course)?

Not weeks, better wait several M O N TH S, even till 2007, for debugged AM2 mobos.

Anyway, there's no performance gain over 939 in the AM2 boards first to market. No point, except to get onto that upgrade path.

well, right. I am not buying it for performance, but to have some future upgradibility.

well, right. I am not buying it for performance, but to have some future upgradibility. Otherwise, i could just buy the Asrock dual sata2, but since the AM2's are already out, might as well use them.

argh, double post. Sorry, i thought i hit edit and not reply.
