Heh, well I spent $285 on Ballistix DDR2-800 at ZZF. At the time Newegg had them for $360. Probably drop in the Ballistix tomorrow night, I'll let you guys know how it does.

Has anyone heard anything good or bad about this Sapphire board?

http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products/products_overview.php?gpid=160&grp=6

I'm waiting for the ATI x1950 crossfire cards to come out to do my build and if the Asus Deluxe doesn't come out, maybe this would be another alternative to the MSI board?

Another quick question about the NB on these new boards. I have a Danger Den/Swiftech hybrid water cooler. Do you think I should dump my chipset block because they run so cool?

Haven't heard anything about the Sapphire board, but I would check out how their 939 version did (their AM2 version will probably be similiar). If I had to guess, decent-to-ok overclocker (probably better than the ECS, but not quite as good as MSI/ASUS/DFI), price on the cheaper side, and a good price😛erformance ratio. Overall, probably a good board for the price (although I am just guessing).

Got my MSI board about 4 hours ago. 😀 😀 😀

It's all put together, and semi-working; it won't boot with dual channel memory. Gonna figure that out over the weekend I suppose. If anything has suggestions for that, post them.

Oh, I'll have pictures online by the end of the day. 🙂

I'm diggin' the price tag on those x1950's too : ) Couple that with my water cooling rig and hopefully it will be a nice overclocker.

Any thoughts about removing the chipset cooler from my loop guys?

Well I got the problem figured out. Seems that you gotta go into the BIOS with one stick in Slot 1, then turn off the machine and stick the 2nd one in. Then it worked fine.

I haven't OCed at all yet, having ATI driver problems. Whenever I try to install them, my comp reboots. 🙁

hmm....

what would be better though, on x1950 or crossfire x1900's

im guessing the latter.....though adding a second x1950 in 6 months after the prices die down off ebay would be even awesomeer

Yah I'd go with the x1950 if you can wait and if you are cooling on air or stock. The x1900's are sooooo loud. But if you don't mind the noise its def not an issue then.

OBCT once you get it going I'd appreciate it if you could lemme know how cool the NB is while overclocking. I need to figure out if I am going to dump the chipset cooler out of my loop or not.

Here is what I am looking to do:

I Already Have:
Case: Lian Li PC-V2100plusII
Power Supply: AeroCool ZeroDBA-S620 620w
Hard Drive: Fujitsu MAX3073NP 15,000 RPM SCSI
Controller Card: LSI Logic LSI20320R
Water Cooling: Danger Den/Swiftech hybrid. Danger Den Blocks Swiftech everything else pretty much a H20-220 APEX ULTRA+ minus the blocks.

Still Need:
Motherboard: ASUS M2R32-MVP Deluxe(crossing my fingers otherwise the K9A or possibly the Sapphire)
Processor: AMD 4600+ EE or FX-62 (haven't decided)
Memory: Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3
Video Card: ATI X1950 Crossfire
Monitor: ViewSonic VX2025WM

I wasted my money. And I mean completely wasted my money on SilenX 120mm fans in my case. Most have started making this strange humming noise so I am going to swap them out prob with these:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...product_info&cPath=49&products_id=4168

Anybody have preferences for fans or are these good. I'm looking for silence and the Vantec Stealth's are yuk, shot those out, and the SilenX are about to be shot out. I just don't want to waste more money replacing 5 more 120mm fans.

Is the monitor a good choice for a gaming monitor?

You know i cant figure out what people like about the Lian Li cases. To me they look ugly. Im into plain looking PCs more then flash but they look just too boring.

I dunno why people like Lian Li... after doing 4 years in professional graphic designing/art...i have no effing clue why some people think they look nice. THEY LOOK HORRIBLE. i have a major grudge against them...they are like a cheap Good Charlotte CD and people who like them are like a buncha 12 year olds who want to be posers.

Sorry i had to get that out of my system.

For me it was purely a size thing. I wanted a completely internal water cooling loop and still have room for plenty of hard drive space. With the way it was laid out I was able to do it and still have room for 6 drives : )

Just took a look. The armor does looks nice. I already have my rig setup tho and I think the armor would be a bit too small. I gotta squeeze a tripple rad inside the case and its flippin huge! It was a stretch getting it inside my current one and the thing is ginormous. But it was nothing a little dremmel work couldn't take care of : )

how did you come up with that?

my Lian Li looks very black metal. solid perforated metal in flat black is awesome. a 12 year old would want something flashy, not something industrial looking.

OBCT how's the build/overclocking of that K9A going?

For some reason or another I can't install the ATI drivers. I upgraded to SP2, and downloading the dual-core hotfix. It's real weird, it reboots as soon as I try to install them.

Hmmmm. Maybe try slimming down to 1 stick of memory. Remove/clean up the drivers/install, reboot and reinstall and see if that works. Could be related to that mem issue you had before.
