Go for Crucial Ballistix. Never had a problem with them (Crucial in general). And Crucial is a division of Micron, and as all you memory buffs should know, Micron is the company that made high speed RAM possible. Their chips are used in a lot of RAM.

that's not the deluxe version that everyone has been waiting for, however... maybe someday 🙁

i know thats not the deluxe veriosn my friend and it wont come out any soon by the looks of it.
true enuff 🙁
i'm currently investigating a C2D solution for my soon-to-be CF setup instead of AMD, due to this whole debacle... although that MSI board does look pretty respectable

Well I am guessing that I'll be getting the MSI board on Monday; I'll let you know how it performs. Though I think it will be a decent AM2 Crossfire motherboard.

ya i didnt win anything in the lottery. 🙁 its good that you guys got those mobos. Im happy your all in a good position now and keeping away from the C2D devil.

BTW: As i said before i rescheduled my build date until christmas so you guys can take the mobo price gouging for me lol. Also because i have too much stuff on my plate right now with my aniversery coming up and im planning on proposing to her so ill need some more cash for that ring lol. Also have 2 birthdays coming up for people and christmas ofcourse.

So for now to make me feel a bit better i bought a 4200 X2 for myself to tie me over. lol

I'm going for 800. But I've almost decided to go M2R32-MVP null. Still waiting to see what the reviews say though. In the past I wouldn't have questioned Asus, but lately their rep seems to be tarnished. Also with this price tag...

If I go with the Asus MVP then I will likely use the recommended Geil link. C=3 which is nice but it's way expensive right now because of that. The AM2 systems should start to shine a bit more now that some lower latency DDR2 is beginning to appear - not a huge difference, but measurable.

newegg doesnt ship to canada and I cant have them ship to my USA address since I cant use my canadian credit card to eBay it is

*shrug*

Mines been shipped and Fedex says it's coming Friday, too bad all my other parts are coming Monday. 🙁 Sigh, after all this AM2 Crossfire fuss, I am actually going to get the MSI board first before all my other parts......

Yeah, kinda weird. ZZF didn't have it listed as Shipped until this morning, but Fedex listed it as 'picked up' yesterday morning. I'm not going to argue though. Fedex says tomorrow at 7pm for delivery for me. 😀😀😀

Get a USA credit card? Heh.

By the way, RAM is not something you want to go OEM on. Buy retail so you can keep the lifetime manufacurer warranty.

Also, this Crucial Ballistix is INCREDIBLY priced right now:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146563

DDR2-1000 for under $300? I'd buy that if I didn't get my DDR2-800 Ballistix already.

too much money for me. $100 over budget for ram speeds that likely wont be a huge jump
