AM2 Crossfire?

That MSI Deluxe board doesn't look too bad, especially for a "light" overclocker like myself - not to mention the lower price (vs. the ASUS) and the fact that the ASUS board is no where in sight!

Well I ordered all the parts for my new computer from ZipZoomFly (save the motherboard obviously) in anticipation that the MSI board will show up in the next few days (have my fingers crossed). Does Gary have any idea when this board will be available?

I went with the AM2 4600+ X2 and Corsair 2GB Kit DDR2-800 XMS2-6400. I know they aren't "amazing" but coupled with a X1900XT I just hope to be able to play games at 1600x1200. And later on I plan to add a X1900XT crossfire edition for Christmas to help performance out.

More good news though, ZipZoomFly has lowered the K9A board to $149.99 (it was $200).

Hey! That's the same rig I was thinking about, minus the K9A board (I need more PCI slots) what a coincidence huh?

Yeah I think the price-performance ratio for my new computer is going to be really good. The fact that I got a decent dual-core CPU, decent 2GB ram, and a decent video card for $710 makes me really happy.

As far as PCI slots go, I actually only need one for my X-Fi. The only other thing I might need a pci slot for is a TV Tuner card, but they make PCI-E 1x versions now so I think I am covered. Besides, since I plan on using Crossfire, I could only use two pci slots on the ASUS board. So I wouldn't even gain any pci slots with the ASUS board over the MSI board.

Well, I was thinking of getting a Killer NIC card with the X-Fi card so I would need one more, but then again, I love FEAR and my ping sometimes sucks.

Asus board is not coming i m thinking they will take back the deluxe and put the new chip in. DFI better come soon, i hope. Or ill go on a killing rampage

Yeah, I just saw the price drop from $199 to $149. I called ZZF, they don't know when they'll be getting them butthey have ordered them already. Newegg has no clue, their support can't help you unless the product is on their site.

Fairly decent stuff you got, I'm not a fan of Corsair though. I stick (bad pun) with Crucial.

Don't tell me that :brokenheart:

That one UK site still shows it's coming in tomorrow, I wonder if they ship across the ocean? 😀

EDIT: No they don't! :disgust:

as i'm sure you will, please let us know what happens after you call the mfg's... it's just so strange to see a product completely disappear with no announcement of why, etc.

Check on the MSI board too while you are at it 😀

What the fsck??? I just called MSI, they said that the MSI board won't ship until mid-September? 🙁

I'm on that already. I hope that their tech support are just a bunch of idiots, and that it's retailing this week.
