Darn when the hell will amd drop their prices, prolly day before conroe arrives.
Cause with current prices of duallies, it crazy who the hell building a new system would choose a 3800+ x2 over a E6600.

Ummm...maybe someone who actually wants a computer? (unless you've found some secret stash of E6600s for sale somewhere). :)

I was talking about when conroe ships and if there is no price drop on the X2s, currently u got no choice, the x2 reigns suppreme.

AMD will have to make a huge price cut because Intel is going for an all out war. Both stocks have been getting killed because of the future price cut. Good for consumers, bad for stockholder like myself. I'm getting killed!

At least INTC pays a dividend. You can collect that till the dust settles.

Well, they HAVE been paying a (0.36%) dividend, but remember that this can change in any quarter...

Wow! In 20 years of watching stocks I never figured that out. :roll

Got any more stock advice?

If they don't wait till the last possible second for the price drops, I know I'll be voting my substantial block of share to find a replacement at the top...there's absolutely no reason to do it any sooner (sorry, but I'm greedy that way). I also expect to see some price INCREASES in the server sector (Opteron 8xx specifically) to help compensate.

The thing is, AMD won't need to drop prices very far...with Conroe being in such limited volume (unless Intel is sandbagging with their numbers), street pricing will be much higher than the wholesale prices we see on the Net for the rest of this year. I expect that Xmas time we will begin to see much bigger cuts, and then when K8L is released in H1 07 we'll see them selling for current price schemes.

Another thing to note, most analysts are currently downgrading Intel like crazy. The reason is that Intel is spending more money on trying to regain marketshare than they have on ANYTHING they've ever done before. Their reported pricing schedule will drop their income by many $billions! I just don't know how long they can continue the firesale without an investor revolt...

That's OK...some people are just slow learners...:)

As to advice, yes I do. Buy low and sell high (or you could try sell high then buy low, but it's riskier...) ;)
