So AM2 will NOT be worse...correct?
I am trying to decide whether I should upgrade cheaply now with a 3000+ or wait for AM2
The most intersting thing Im interested in is ATI's new chipsets for AM2.
From what Ive read I dont want to touch Nforce with a ten foot pole, and the good ATI chipsets wont be here until AM2 is released.

Well, for anyone with a s939 platform, AM2 isn't really desireable. However, people with s754 and s478 based systems might want to look into it.

Stability.
I work hours on electronic circuits with my software and I absolutely cannot have any data corruption or lost data in general.
I?m not an enthusiast, and I don?t need the fastest PC, however my needs do involve a stable reliable PC
A few of my friends that are into computers profess ATI to have a better track record of stability, and claim ATI will have the better chipset for my needs.
I would be willing (and seriously considering) to build 2 PCs...one for absolute stability, and one for daily uses...that?s how serious I am about needing rock stable performance.
