Everything I google about boot times is how to make it faster. I want to make it slower.
I have a Gigabyte Z87M-D3H motherboard with an American Megatrends UEFI BIOS. Like most BIOSes I've ever seen, when it first starts up, you can hit the delete key to go into the BIOS setup, or the F12 key to choose a boot drive. Unlike most I've seen, you only have to hit the key once, and it works, which is a pleasant change from having to hit it repeatedly and hope it works.
The problem is it only gives you about a second from the time the Megatrends logo comes up, to the time it goes ahead and boots from the default drive. It's not impossible to hit the correct key in one second, but it requires your full attention, and there are so many shiny objects near my PC that I'm easily distracted.
The manual doesn't say anything about a setting to increase the time it gives you to hit the key. Can anyone tell me if there is one?
Thank you.
