He's not a favorite but I love some of his songs like Spirit in the Night, Prove it all Night & The Fever. Saw him in Philly in `81 and was impressed, he sure doesn't hold back.
Neil Young plays with a similar spirit as if he will never take a break, like his life depends on it. You KNOW you're experiencing rock & roll at its finest (if you're a fan of his voice).
I think they got a bit carried away with the Dylan comparisons especially over the Born to Run album.
But I don't see how it could be un-American not to like him or anybody else.
