I'm currently playing FEAR and COD2. I'm 38.
I also play CS:S from time to time and I like DOD:S.
No, you're never too old to play games.
The nice part about being old and playing games...
I can swing a rig like Rigalingus. 🙂

Yeah, I didn't want to bring that subject up, not to annoy younger folks here, but I also thought about it, and as you get older you usually can afford better rigs, which is important for me, because I really admire the graphics & other effects.

More importantly than the games, I learn a lot.
Staying tuned to the games keeps me tuned to the hardware which keeps me tuned to the skills necessary to make them come together.
Anandtech is my portal to that crap.

Aside from that, there's nothing like shooting some n00btards in the face. 🙂

Oh, a suggestion...

It's cheap and it keeps you in the loop.

Dude, you have to keep in practice. There's no way I going to let a kid beat me as bad as I used to do to the old farts who tried to game w/ me.

<-29 and still got the touch.

I play alot of CS:S, and one of the guys in the room I play in is 46. He is pretty good too.
If you have the time, and have fun, go for it.

I like sneaking up and shooting guys just like you in the back of the brainpan.

Old age and treachery will overcome youth and vigor any day. 🙂

you might have less time, but "too old for 'X'" is usually never applicable.

[qualifier] as long as you do it in the confines of your own house [/qualifier] 😛

Yep. I'm in my 50s, too, and I still play 'em. Maybe that's because I couldn't play them until my 30s.... I don't count things like Pong.

One is never too old to have fun.

Being ?too old to play games? is a comment I occasionally hear from those who don?t play. I?m in my late 20?s. If your game doesn?t interfere with life?s responsibilities, then go for it.

Now, if you choose the wrong game to play, I?ll have a problem with that <Just teasing> Play the games you enjoy, and play it the way you enjoy playing.
