Who doesn't want a PS2? Call me crazy, but I have a system that can do T&L, play more games than any console, play DVDs, AND surf the net. Of course I'm talking about my computer system, and while it does cost a lot, I comfort myself in the fact that it does keep me up to date on ALL the world's news, enables me to keep in touch with my family, is a great entertainment system, and if I know it well enough, allows me to get a very decent paying job.

Well actually, it's mainly for that last reason...:) If I had gotten a the first PSX...who knows if I would be as interested in computers as I am now...

I've only got a Voodoo 3 in my machine and I have absolutely no intention of getting a PS2. In fact, I doubt I'll buy another console in my life! :)

i have an urge to tweak things and consoles just can't fulfill that urge :p i have a PIII 500 and a v3, and for now i'm perfectly happy with it(until i get some money at least ;))

I have occasional urges to get consoles, mainly because some of my less intelligent friends have them, and they're convenient to use. But I've got a PIII-650 and a decent video card, so I think I'll just wait until they figure out how to make a PS2 emulator for the computer ;)

consoles are a different market. Fighting games and sports games i think are better on a console (it's the whole multiplayer environment).

Computer is for games like quake3/UT.

My opinion anyway.. but i wouldn't pay $300 for any console, i could buy me a new tennis racquet and coat with that :).. or better yet, put it towards a digital camera :)

I'm no fan of consoles. In a year, the PS2 will still be the same performance wise, while CPU, video card, and memory technology will have advanced noticeably. The PS2 may beat computers in some ways right now (and even that is debateable), but after a year or so computers will be way ahead.

First off i really dont play that many games. I play counterstrike maybe 4 times a week. And well they dont have that on PS2. I do want a PS2 though. I want like 100 of them. So i can sell them, and make money to buy stuff.

I would get one if I had spare cash, for the DVD and a couple of the games. Other than that, I am damned happy with my DC.

I play counterstrike and Atomic Bomberman. And I doubt I could take apart a PS2 without breaking it. And my PC has only cost me about 2x as much as a PS2, and is vastly more versatile.
