Am I the only person that like office 03 more than 07?

I hated office 2007 at first, but now that I am used to it it's way better.

I prefer 03, but I have no choice at work. All IT people are required to have Office 2007 at my work, even though the rest of the company hasn't been migrated yet. I still have a hard time finding all the stuff I was just used to in 03.

Same here... besides, you have to save everything back to 97-03 for anyone to read it so what's the point? Major lame...

I don't like 07. Do most corporations have it deployed? The 2 companies I've worked for in the last year, and my friends' companies..they all use Office 03. A couple months ago I helped one friend with an online assessment for a job that was over his ability to use Office 03. "We" got a 95+% on the 3 sections, but then he quit the job after two weeks.

Don't like the ribbon interface?

I've actually read that it's pretty nice once you get used to it. I still use 2003 at home, though.

That's one thing I don't understand, what's up with the docx format? Did MS have a legitimate reason to change it, or was it just a way to get users of older versions to upgrade to 2007?

I hate how files saved in 07 are not compatible with 03 unless you save in 03 format or download an update for 03, which non-technical users wouldn't be comfortable doing.

I don't know how moving shit all over the place helps. Maybe they should have given some tutorials on it. I hated deploying it and having users come ask me how to do shit when even I don't know where the hell everything went. Office 2003 was the shit.

Office has a huge profit margin, even compared to Microsoft's other products. What do you think? ;)

It's Microsoft... what do you think?

They built an interface that makes no sense, has no 'classic look' option to make the transition easier and isn't directly compatible with older versions. Only MS would pull some crap like that.

Yeah, but I liked vista right away. The same isn't true for office 2007. I even posted a thread about how much I hated 2007. But now that I've given it a chance the new interface actually makes a lot of sense. It's just hard to get people to change when they are used to something.

Nah...fuck that. Make them download the converter from Microsoft...:D

I like Office 2007. I much prefer the groupings of the ribbon bar as compared to the old file menus in previous editions.
Yes, it takes some getting used to, but once you do, it's faster and easier.

That's actually one thing MS did right with Office 07. The .*x formats are standardized XML files that make it easier for other applications to work with MS Office files.
