I got the game free with my AMD 64 EPP bundle...but my drive doesn't recognize it as being there ffs.

I haven't had time to figure out why, & UT2k4 pwns >* anyway.

Urk, the ut2k4 demo made me want to toss my lunch. The Far Cry one persuaded me to buy the game. Different strokes I guess. My hat's off to game developers for making demos though, gives the prospective consumer a much better idea of whether they'll like a game or not before shelling out the $$$.

First off, the UT2k4 demo was boring. Try playing the actual game.

Second, if you don't like multiplayer games as much as RPGs, you will certainly prefer Far Cry.

I much prefer single-player. Multiplayer FPSs are mostly used by young children to get together and 'pwn' each other, and it gives me a headache tbh. I don't like kids. I also much prefer a storyline to mindless "kill the power generator" sh*t over, and over, and over, and over, and... well, that's ut2k4 in a nutshell. As we age, different things appeal to us.

Haha...the thing about it being for kids...well that depends on what server you are on.
Most of the people on the server that i play on are older than me, & i'm 21.

I don't enjoy Deathmatch much, but the teamwork in Onslaught & CTF is fun.

I get bored playing by myself against bots/the computer, so i like the social interaction.

I know where you are coming from though.

No, certainly not only for kids. But a lot do play them, and it only takes one to really ruin it. In a dorm it'd be one thing as you're guaranteed a minimum age, but my college daze is history and regardless we didn't have a lan; we had to dial up

Playing it on the highest difficulty level is quite a bit of fun. Sneaking through the jungle and popping enemies one by one as they look around for you is quite a lot of fun. I'm a sniper type FPS player, so that's pretty much my cup of tea.

I don't find it to be as amazing as some people are saying it is. I don't know, its got nice eye candy, but gameplay wise it feels dull to me.

Then again people feel the same way about Halo, which I think rules.
Far Cry rocks... As does Halo... Oh yeah, Call of Duty too.

Max Payne 2 and UT2k4... Zzzzzzzz! :moon:

Uhh..agree and disagree.

I like it a lot. Taking over a speed boat and then having boat vs boat duels is a lot of fun.

I played through far cry single player ONCE. I liked it, but never went back. Played multiplayer 10 times, It sucked, could never go back. i tried to like it, but i couldnt.

I dont care for farcry anymore, but i recomend for someone who has never played it to give it a try.

It's ok....bought it on the recommendation of a friend but the game just doesn't grab my attention. I'm not big into FPS games now, but back in my college days we played the hell outta Quake.....that was really the last FPS I played until Call of Duty came out....now there's a game I love!!!! FarCry is ok....but....well I dunno....it just hasn't done it for me so far.

I enjoyed it, but I don't play it any more since I got into WoW beta. It was definitely fun though.

I asked the same thing!!! I really enjoyed the game. Been gaming for more years than I care to remember, but it's one of the few that I actually enjoyed enough to complete. I didn't enjoy the mutant fighting as much as just taking out the mercs, but it was still fun. And I think that says a lot for the game since I played it after playing through Call of Duty a couple of times! Now THAT is a hard act to follow IMO.

To each their own....

I concur, Max Payne was based upon a kinda cool gimmick, and Max 2 was the same thing... but it was played out so much by the time it was released that well... fuggit. it sucked! I got bored of Max1 about 2/3 of the way though because it was the same lame gameplay over and over.

The vehicle control sux. They should have looked at UT for tips on controlling vehicles and camera angles.

As for the game play, it was awesome! There were a zillion different ways to complete missions, which as far as I know is a first for FPS's. I remember one place where I pulled a James Bond and jumped my boat off an embankment into a bunker, killing it's occupants, then using their gatling gun to kill an entire regimen of soldiers :D

Multiplayer was so-so, but the single player experience is unmatched!

I'm pretty sure we decided long ago that your opinion generally sucks.

Hated Max Payne 2, but i didn't like Far Cry much either. I just don't usually like FPS (but i'm highly anticipating Doom 3). Call of Duty was very fun, but short. Didn't really play much online (i suck).

I liked FarCry because you need to move sloooooooooooow not being spotted by the enemy. It's like camping in CS without anybody whining about it :)
Those who liked Far Cry should Try Soldier of Fortune II. Same kind of fighting style but only against humans. It should be a steal since it's old.
