Am I the only person that doesn't enjoy FAR CRY?

I have a good enough comp to run it A64 2800 9800XT, but for some reason, far cry just doesn't appeal to me. I really like Call of duty and max payne 2 though. Granted FC looks nice, but the driving and gameplay was ehhh...anybody agree with me?

I don't find it to be as amazing as some people are saying it is. I don't know, its got nice eye candy, but gameplay wise it feels dull to me.

Then again people feel the same way about Halo, which I think rules.

Hey, speaking of Halo, does anybody wanna play a round or two?

I'm bored at the moment.

Would also be willing to play PGR2 on Xbox (or Crimson Skies or Unreal on Xbox or PC).

Knights of the Old Republic quite possibly has the best story in videogaming history.

Urk, the ut2k4 demo made me want to toss my lunch. The Far Cry one persuaded me to buy the game. Different strokes I guess. My hat's off to game developers for making demos though, gives the prospective consumer a much better idea of whether they'll like a game or not before shelling out the $$$.

Whenever I hear people talking about how great a game Far Cry is, it's always in the context of having some kind of 'my videocard/penis is bigger than yours' showdown. I played the demo and was unimpressed.

I have a ti4600 and love it. Image quality isn't everything, but does matter to me - and Far Cry's is second to none even on my fossil of a video card. It has a good enough story for me; the majority of a game is playing it, not watching the story unfold. If I wanted to do that I'd watch a movie. Far Cry's is maybe five minutes in total, spread out across various cutscenes. The AI is something else. It does have its problems; it's a bit buggy, but I played Everquest for years so in comparison no other game is any more than very slightly buggy. Certain parts are extremely difficult in relation to the difficulty setting, notably any part with rocket fatboy(s), Krieger, and when you're dropped off in the jungle with ten bullets. Nothing's perfect though, and to me the enjoyment far outweighed any negative things about it.

First off, the UT2k4 demo was boring. Try playing the actual game.

Second, if you don't like multiplayer games as much as RPGs, you will certainly prefer Far Cry.

I need to get more practice in playing. I never got great at FPSes, but I hadn't played any for a couple of months and then played Halo a day or so ago and man, I was pretty terrible.

I wish PC FPSes had co-op play. I wouldn't think it would be that hard if they made it so that the two computers had to be directly connected on like a LAN. Then again, I'm no game programmer so I don't know.

I much prefer single-player. Multiplayer FPSs are mostly used by young children to get together and 'pwn' each other, and it gives me a headache tbh. I don't like kids. I also much prefer a storyline to mindless "kill the power generator" sh*t over, and over, and over, and over, and... well, that's ut2k4 in a nutshell. As we age, different things appeal to us.
