Their new stuff just seems like cookie cutter sh|t. I really liked some of their older stuff. Sunday Bloody Sunday is a great song.
The fact that they merge politics with music annoys me to no end, but their old stuff was good enough I could ignore it...their new stuff is of lesser quality and thus the annoyance factor eclipses the music.
That, and bono is such a fvcking tool. He stretches the very limits of human toolage with his very existence.
By actually making a difference in peoples lives, most who have never even have heard of U2? We need more tools like that in the world today.
Great, put that in a newspaper or something. I don't feel like grooving to a tune about starving people while I'm cruizing around in my neon. Its sort of a downer. And I already get plenty of those.
A good reason for you not to listen to their music but it doesn't make Bono a tool.
U2's songs have always been about current topics of the day. They haven't changed that way. Now I can understand why someone doesn't want to hear that stuff and might not like them because of it.
As for his activities outside of the Music World, I think he's great. I'd rather read about that than the Gallagers of Oasis getting there asses kicked again in a drunken brawl. Well that's not really true, I kind of enjoy reading about those idiots getting their asses kicked in drunken brawls
😉
