Just about every clueless relative I have that has a yahoo account has had it (and it's address book) hijacked in the past few years, resulting in massive amounts of spam mail, These days I look on a yahoo email address the same way AOL was looked on a decade or more ago.

I don't. I used Yahoo Mail and got too much spam and I got too much spam from Hotmail as well. Gmail I get spam as well but not too much though I prefer just having my own private e-mail. I only use Gmail to separate somethings from the main e-mail.

That happened to my friend and they started spamming everyone stating he was supposedly in Europe needing money. Since then i deleted my yahoo contact list. But they could still steal addresses from the emails that are not yet deleted. Never more than 3 days worth.

I should be like my relatives and change email addresses every time i get a new ISP.

I like the new layout, but they need to highlight the folder that has new mail better. The new android app is a huge improvement, the old one SUCKED so bad, I would need to repeatedly go in and out of folders for new mail to show up. The interface almost works for a tablet.

I got 3 yahoos a while back when their inboxes were only like 1 or 2 megs. I do like the format. Its almost as good as Outlook for arranging and dragging.

But Gmail is faster especially with phones, so thats my primary account.

Nope. My real estate agent uses it, but she is almost 50. lol

I still use my hotmail account from >10 years ago. I have so many accounts associated with it, it's not going anywhere anytime soon. I started using Google, but honestly, they constantly harass you with updates, changes, services to sell you, etc. Very annoying. Microsoft has already adopted all the things that Google offered for free so I'm good.

Also have my own domain and administrate my own "professional" email account.

Umm, I've had Gmail for a long time. They never harass me with anything. The layout gets changed on its own once in a while but thats it.
I think its your settings. There must be a place to opt-out that I found and forgot.

You're probably right. I'm just old school and will stick with Microsoft.

Heh.

My Verizon FiOS e-mail gets quite a bit of spam as well. The only thing that has stopped me from getting spam is having my own domain. If I get spam it's because I maybe signed up for a site (no, not porn before anyone asks) it's my own fault, and then they didn't take me off of their subscription list.

Pardon me for going a bit off the subject here.

I usually get bills through my domain e-mail, e-mails from friends whom I give out the address to, and PayPal receipts. Things such as that.

Gmail I keep for newsletters from websites, e-mails from lesser known friends but people I still want to keep in contact with, and if I sign up to a blog or forum.
